Nope. It won't work. Only works on items that can be reserved. I know if you contact the UK Customer Support will check the store stock for you. Not to sure how to contact ROI support.

What is your nearest Argos? I can see if the Cork store can check other stores for you. I'll be going at 9am in the morning.

I tried the phone stock checker on this last week and didn't manage to get a reservation. Can they be ordered from the stores?

I don't think so. I'm just gonna call to the store Tomorrow and give the catalogue number see if they have it. There is 3 different stores with 15 minutes of my house so hopefully one of them will have it.

My OnePlus 2 is arriving tomorrow. Won't rule out checking Argos tomorrow too though see if they have this in stock.

Was in store for 9 on the button and in Cork (Mahon) there was no Nexus 6 in stock.

I then asked to check other Cork stores (Queens old Castle and Blackpool) and then the rest of the Country. No stock either.

Did anyone have any luck??

its very strange as argos uk is obviously still selling it with that same catalogue number.
Edit: price drop in uk since last week to €430 but also now out of stock

I just called a number in Dublin and they checked all ROI stores and no stock available.

The person on the phone said it was no longer being stocked / discontinued.

More than likely because the new Nexus devices will be released in Sept/Oct when the final version of Android Marshmallow (M) is released for OTA updates.

I checked on Monday and Argos did not have the Nexus 6 on their site. Now they have it reduced but out of stock? But stupid adding it to the site :S

I'll update the thread if I notice any other (active) offers!

I checked in Waterford store this morning and same as no stock,but then earlier i got an email from Play and they are selling it for €390 with delivery to Ireland,just use the code PAYDAY15 to get 15% off ,but its the EU model so i dont know if thats different than the one Argos were selling.

I just bought it even though i dont really need it but at that price why not,i actually used parcel motel as its next day delivery to the UK so ill have it Friday,it came to £282.51 so with currency exchange its just under €386 and parcel motel €4 so €390 all in.

So looking at play.com / Rakuten.co.uk and other posts on boards.ie all devices items from play.com that are over €22 will be liable to pay customs at 23% of value of device.

Can anyone confirm this or have any experience of ordering devices from play.com?

Shop is Expansys and address of shop is Slough UK. All the T&Cs relate to Expansys and EU legislation on return of goods etc so if it is shipped from anywhere other than the uk then the site is dodgy which I dont think it is

I had it shipped to parcel motel because they had next day delivery to the UK but in saying that it said 1-2 days delivery to Ireland so i probably would of had it Friday anyway.

Just bought the nexus 6 from Play.com yesterday and the discount code worked, €382 charged to my card. I had it delivered to parcel motel so I am hoping to avoid excise. The phone was shipped yesterday evening so I should have it Sat at the latest hopefully. Now to return my Moto X 2015 to Amazon for a refund.

P.S. stopped shopping with play years ago because of import duty charges on stupid things like clothing. That was to an Irish address at the time.

Received mine also this morning, only ordered from UK Wednesday evening so super fast delivery. The phone is a beast but I will get used to it. It replaced a moto x 2015 so i am well used to this type of phone. It's super fast with 3gbs of RAM. Overall, I am pleased so far, thanks to the op of the play.com deal

So now that ye have been using the Nexus 6 for a while, would ye recommend one? What's it like etc?

I've been using it since last December, battery life is decent but not amazing, but the turbo charger makes life so easy. The phone is fast and responsive and has no sign of slowing down, also the new Marshmallow os is roll out now. Built quality is much better than the nexus 5. It's a bit slippery but it will be fine with a good case. The amoled screen is good but not as good as Samsung's recent amoled screen. The front facing speakers is great and loud. And being a phone, I think the call quality is very good.
