Vice versa happens, passengers lose the plot when they realise they have got on the wrong bus and give the driver a load of grief.

A lack of question leads me to believe you think DB aint that bad, and most of your complaints are not relevant.

How many stops are in a stage?

Good question. Never figured out the whole stage thing in all my years of using bus.

What's the oddest thing you've ever found left on your bus?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,138 ✭✭✭foxy06

What are you wearing and how long will your wife be out?

How many stops are in a stage?

no one knows, some stages are every stop, some 2, some 3, as a driver we are told as a guide its 3 stops are a stage.
Its madness, where are the NTA?

Not my bus, but a wheel chair was left on a bus, the miracle bus.

What cc is the engine in your bus? What mpg would it do roughly? How many miles would the average DB bus clock up in a year?

Why is real time utter ****e?

Why are timetables totally unrealistic and why haven't they been updated to reflect the chaos of the City Centre due to Luas works?

Why do we still have different fares and not a flat rate?

These are questions to ask the NTA, but us drivers get the blame!

Why do most drivers not use the middle door? (when they are able too)

Why do drivers never kick off the junkies? Why don't they check free travel passes?

MIDDLE DOORS, super simple, if you get injured at centre door, driver is llegally responsible.
As for junkies, why risk life and limb? NTA dont care.
Check free travel pass, NTA dont care!, i go into it later

Why do some drivers accept notes(into the coin slot) as payment? is this not against the rules?

    Eh? explain that?

Kinda sums up ops attitude he doesn't give a shot about giving good service to the passengers, and it's always someone else's fault

    Db needs to be privatised

True! What are your views on the above though? DB might not be responsible for it, but they go along with it!

Not all but some running times on routes are fantasy, ie 60 mins all day running time, its the same rush hour and off peak, this is NTA problem but DB and Driver get the blame.

Yes its against the rules, these drivers take the easy way out, instead of telling people coins only, they take notes, this is 100% wrong.
These notes are not counted, picked out and go into the pocket of those who empth the safes at the end of the day.

No one has asked for proof im a driver!
proof that the truth is not wanted around here?

But surely the money collected wouldn't add up with the amount of fares and tickets given out if people took the notes?

Maybe we're taking you at face value.

    Here's a couple of questions.

Are you the same driver who started a similar thread a couple of months ago? Think there might also have been one on the AMA forum.

If not, then is it official Dublin Bus policy for drivers to come on Boards and immediately go on the defensive?

Sums up the problem with Dublin bus. Majority of drivers imo don't give a ****

Have you seen the film Speed? Do Dublin Bus have a contingency plan if this scenario happened on one of their buses?

    Company= open all doors.
Driver asks,What happens when fall at centre door? DB say you should not have opened centre doors, it was your fault passenger fell.
If passenger fall at front door, driver in the clear, so why open centre door?
It only leaves driver open to be sued, DB wash there hands , say driver at fault.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 68 ✭✭shodge

how do you narrow it down to who is robbing?
6Am to midnight. 4 hours per shift, different drivers each day on each shift, how do you know if driver is honest or those who empty safe are?

I'm no lawyer but if company policy is to open door then I'm sure you have no liability.

I can see why they have those signs, you've done nothing but affirm my belief it should be privatised entirely
