What toppings do like/dislike on pizza?

I've tried many types of pizza with different types of cheese, vegetables, meat and fish. I generally like a thin base.
The one topping I don't like in pizza is Chicken followed by olives.

What toppings do like/dislike on pizza?

BBQ sauce and extra cheese with every single type of meat avaliable. It's called the Texas Barbeque in Dominos.

Jalapeno peppers. Love them on a pizza. The extra kick is right up my street.

The simple ham and mushroom is hard to beat, that's when you can really compare the difference between the great pizza's and the mediocre ones. Toppings are often loaded on to disguise crappy pizzas.

Anchovies, but half the takeout places don't even have them as an option yet they'll happily sell "chicken" pizzas. Nothing with wings belongs on a pizza, simple enough rule.

I've tried pretty much everything on pizza & there's very little that doesn't work in my opinion. Apart from asparagus, which tasted watery & bland. I've had snails on pizza which were actually pretty good. Also, if doing a pizza in the oven yourself try cracking an egg on top of it. Takes about 12 minutes to cook properly so you might not add it at the start depending on time needed for the pizza itself. A good dollop of hot sauce rounds it off well.

Speaking as a mod of the atheism and agnosticism forum, pizzas can be a divisive topic. Actual schisms over pizza toppings have occurred! The common denominator appeared to be pineapple.

True, I think there's tons of toppings that work really well on a pizza but you shouldn't use them all at once. With the exception of "meat feast" pizzas - a guilty pleasure, I reckon that apart from the cheese & tomato sauce a pizza should have no more than 3 toppings, otherwise the individual components, including the base, risk getting lost.

I think meat feast is a brilliant hungover pizza.

Oh totally, thus I described it as a "guilty pleasure". Still wouldn't regard it as the best quality pizza however.

Y'know I'd happily turn back to religion, any religion/sect/cult/etc at all if they confirmed that a passage in their holy book forbade the mixing of pineapple with pizza.

Meat, all meat. Smoked meat, cured meat, fried meat, roast meat. Meat, and lots of it. And loadsa cheese, mushrooms and peppers.

I love cheese and tomato, but I also like peppers, red onion, sweetcorn and jalapenos.

Cannot abide mushrooms, pepperoni or olives.

Oh and stick your field of rocket up your h*le! The amount of people tossing gardens of rocket on their pizza is just plain wrong.

Chicken, pineapple, sweetcorn & those odd rectangular bits of faux ham shouldn't be anywhere near a pizza. They're frozen pizza type of toppings.

Pepperoni, jalapeno & anchovies work well on a decent pizza

Dislike pineapple on pizza. I love fruit, but on pizza - NO!!!!

And before any pedants point it out, botanically tomato is a fruit but in culinary terms, it's a vegetable. :P

Love olives, pineapple, sweetcorn, peppers and chilli flakes.

Hate mushrooms and pesto. Nearly impossible to get a frozen vegetarian pizza without pesto these days.

*Except for anchovies or anything else fish-related. Seafood is bleurgh

I'm guessing this is because commercially, chicken on pizza makes sense.

Like Pepperoni, pineapple, beef balls/meatballs and sweetcorn. If getting a calzone I'll always get it stuffed with beef.

Hate mushrooms, watery and buried so deep in the pizza you have to pull and pick them out. Don't like plain chicken, olives or onion. It has to be chicken tikka if having chicken.

I know cheesy crust isn't technically a topping but I like that too, dipped in BBQ sauce.

I would marry the guy who discovered the pepperoni tree....and I'm a bloke. Simplest and best topping out there. I would fly back to Dublin for a slice of difontaines now if I wasn't half pished and full of bbq food.


As for stuff I don't like, it's hard to say. Pizza is like sex, even when it's bad, it's still kinda....good

I knew pineapple was a hated topping but I'm surprised at all the mushroom haters! My go to pizza topping combos are ham and mushroom and ham and pineapple.

Chicken on a pizza is wrong to me. Can't explain why but it's wrong.

The only thing I'm not mad about on pizza is BBQ sauce. Once it has a thin, crispy base I'm happy. Years ago there was a Goodfellas pizza with peach on it , Jesus it was amazing!

I love pineapple on a pizza, I do.

I had a fab pizza in Italy and there was an egg in the centre and I loved it. I haven't been able to recreate it.

The other half pepperoni, salami, tomatoes and peppers.

Never tried pineapple on pizza but it's sounds manky.
