Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Lads and Ladies, wasnt sure where to post this but this forum anything seems to go so i'll park it here and mods can move if needs be.

I recently helped my friend retrieve his drone from the roof an abdandoned council storage shed. The sheds roof was rotten with sections having already fallen in, so ladders where out of the question. I found the drone and amputated a few clothes hangers to make hooks and attahced via fishing line , and up she went. Here's the video if you want to have a look, cheers :-)

Look at you, ya fancy bastard with your improvisation. What's goin' on, ya think you're better than us? Huh, huh?!

Why didn't you just put some rope around your shoe and throw it onto the roof and drag the drone down.

    Posh bastard

How much does one of those drones cost, and are they difficult to fly?

    Oh boys and their toys!

Those drones are a bloody nuisance and an invasion of privacy. They should all be shot out of the sky on sight.

OP, it would have been cooler, if you had rescued the first drone with a second drone.

That would have been really cool.

    Didn't he????

What do ye use the drones for besides creeping on women getting dressed?

    Watching them get undressed, silly!

This thing can fly up to 3.5 miles out and beam the video back to you at 720p while recording it at up to 4k quality video, has sonar built in under the body so it will not collide with the ground if its autolanding, has gps should you lose connection it will fly itself back to you. These exact units are used by the discovery channel to record documentaries. Toys they are not

Watching this vid has inspired me to build a drone for missions to intercept and sabotage a drone that is in the process of rescuing another drone.

Still got stuck on a shed and needed a coat hanger to rescue it!

I just am completely dumb to the whole thing and would love to know what the average Joe would use them for. A friend of mine uses them in a photography based business and it seems very cool and unique.

I brought my drone to play around with on my holidays to Pakistan last year.
The authorities threw a complete wobbler! Weirdos.

Hardly unique. There are 3 professional outfits in our medium sized town alone.

    They're pests.

Cmon, everyone has different interests. I'm sure some of your interests are boring and pointless to some people. I would imagine some of mine are too.

No need to keep insisting he must be a child for having one.

    Afraid not.

But if you have a tomato. And it gets stuck on the dilapidated, rusty roof of an old shed. You can combine your drone with amputated hangers to retrieve your tomato.

Each to their own, I put up the video because it might have been of interest to some people and it clearly has. If it's not for you that's fine but don't be insulting people because of their hobby, it's the same as an a$$hole everyone has one. Anyway , I'm away to troll some threads myself.

This rescue was more dramatic :P

Why so? He flew higher, the drone i lifted weighs about 5 times as much so I didnt fly higher not wanting to push it too much, apart from the music the videos are pretty much the same idea.

    Are they both not DJIs?

And yeah, the music & height added to the tension, that's what I was getting at.

Edit: Nevermind I see it's a Syma X5C, both are impressive videos though.

Yea and the music on mine is royalty free just incase the video took off(I dont pardon the pun) I didnt want to get sued :-)

He didn't pay for it, he used the drone that later got stuck on the roof to 'rescue' it from the drone shop.
