My memory is so crap, I can't remember what you wanted.

Same, they have the payment deadline extremely close to the offers though which would be a problem for a lot of people! Like if someone isn't sure that they are going to galway but get an offer, they have 2 days to get the money to Corrib!

If anything on previous threads are something to go by, this year and Corrib should be interesting :pac:

Yeah it is really close, isn't it? I was lucky in that I had mine booked since February (the mammy pulled me out of school in a panic to book it when the site went down) and I've been set on Galway for a while - I keep on hearing about people in my course being headhunted by companies in Silicon Valley and getting jobs with their PEP placements
I've heard three things about Corrib:
!. Don't stay in Corrib if you're doing medicine or engineering
    2. Like Auschwitz, except not everyone is bald and you don't get free pajamas
    3. Corrib Village - where the walls aren't plastered but the students are

Guitargirl, are you ready for the temporary fame and adoration that comes with being the newspaper sourcer? :P

I had wanted science in UCD but I'd prefer to get offered mathematical science in NUIG now :o

"Where the walls aren't plastered but the students are" possibly the best thing I've ever heard hahaha

And the one's for med too :)

Hope you get your mathematical science just for the sh*ts and giggles* that NUIG will bring (and you know employment and stuff)

*That's the 2nd time I've used that phrase this evening

A little bit. I don't mind doing it. I'm awake anyway and sure if it calms us all down then it's exactly what's needed

Doing Premed:pac: Arts like hours so it is! I've heard about that though, I'm avoiding Corrib like the plague the second I go into First Med..

I'm the same as you, had my heart set on Galway the second I visited the university..and let's be honest if you want to enjoy student life, Galway is the place to go:pac:

What course is it you want to do??

Corrib's facilities are mediocre at best, and the bedrooms are very, very depressing. They're like prison cells. I don't see what all the fuss is about tbh - you'll get bored of the partying soon after starting college and then you'll be stuck with substandard accommodation until next May. Although I do agree that the location is a huge plus.

The Medicine thread has been so dead this evening in comparison to previous years CAO eve..:(

*cues incoming explosion of hysteria when everyone wakes up and sees Med points and offers*

Fair play to you on going for medicine! I sort of regret not going for it, but I don't think I'd be able for that sort of workload as I am now (which is lazy), so I'm considering doing a GAMSAT after I get a degree!
I'm awful at socialising so going to Galway and choosing Corrib is basically me forcing myself to be social and make friends...
Engineering undenominated :P I'm pretty sure I'll go into Biomedical but I want to check out the other streams first!

Premed is basically first year gen science, the hours are even less than arts cause you just have lectures and labs, tutorials aren't compulsory. Whereas in Arts they had compulsory tutorials like twice a week. :P And wayyyy more assignments. :P It's an easy enough year, just stay on top of assignments, I missed probably more than half my lectures and still managed a 1.1 with not a lot of study really.

    760 POINTS

I think it should be obligatory for anyone who is considering doing medicine to have to watch 2 hours of 'Embarrassing Bodies' without flinching or looking away, that would show the real doctors ;)

As a nuig 1st year last year and going back into 1st again this year I hope who ever wants Galway gets it! It's the best craic and everyone is so sound and any student accommodation is unreal! So excited to get back into it. Hope ye all get what ye want :)

Cheers! Don't be afraid to do the HPAT this year! Could save you the GAMSAT route if you decided you want Medicine!
I don't mind socialising, I just wanted to stay in the accommodation where I would have the most fun:pac:
You're so lucky with the engineering building literally being on Corrib's doorstep!
Actually beyond excited to move down:pac:

Watching Orthopaedic bone surgeries would separate the men from the boys:pac:

I'm setting an alarm for 4:30 to come back here to see if the points have been posted and I'm not even waiting on an offer 😂 it's too exciting. The boyfriend is going back into 1st year and hoping to get commerce but he's way above last years points (I think) so here's hoping!

Ah I want to sleep though. Rose of Tralee is going on sure and the festival craic here is mighty. Don't want to be wrecked tired considering there's only two days of it left.
