I am taking a year out this year after doing my LC. I don't really know what I want to do but I put down dome choices on my cao. Is it possible to reapply next year and write down completely different courses using my LC points?

Yeah OP, I have just done that this year. Dropped out of medicine and will be starting a business course in a few weeks. Didn't have to repeat the LC.
If you defer an offer that you receive tomorrow however, you can only put that course on your CAO next year or else you will not be guaranteed that place (still could get it if the points don't rise).
Taking a gap year was a great experience and helped me mature and focus for third level.

Hey, just as a matter of interest, could I ask why you decided to drop out of medicine? I'm applying to CAO this year and medicine is on mine but I'm also interested in business.

    Thanks!
