Laying a concrete shed base

Hi. I'm laying a concrete base for a 8x8 wood shed I'm getting installed in the garden. I know I could just lay blocks, but I'd like it to be on a flat base so its not a home for vermin underneath, and I think it'll look a bit nicer sitting on a slightly raised base. I just want to check how much gravel/cement I'll need.....

The base will be going in a corner of my lawn and the measurements will be 2.45m x 2.9m x .12m (thats a 5 inch thick base). The ground seems pretty dry, and its only a wood shed on it, so I'm just going to put the concrete straight onto compacted muck, no hardcore underneath. Going on my measurements, thats .88 cubic metres. Seemingly one 25kg bag of gravel does 1/60th of a cubic metre, so that means I need 53 bags of gravel, or just over a tonne? And then working on a ratio of 4:1, I'll need about 12 bags of cement?

    Does all that sound ok?

    Thanks

why not just go with 804 crushed stone and save a lot of grief and much easier to do, and move if decide to move it.
just leave enough room to walk around to keep it treated with sadolins NOT varnish./

just lay out 4 inch solids on fat to suit floor "joists"

12 bags sounds about right to me.

I did the same in my garden and my brother did the same for the shed. Better than any blocks/gravel base imo. No worry about damp underneath or vermin as you said.
