Myhill, Chester, Dawson, Lescott, Brunt, Morrison, Gardner, Fletcher (c), McClean, Berahino, Lambert.

Hart, Sagna, Kompany (C), Mangala, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, Navas, Silva, Sterling, Bony

As suspected Aguero misses the starting XI, Sterling makes his debut.

    2-1 WBA.

Bit of a cliché but City can lay down a marker tonight with none of the other challenging teams putting in convincing performances.

McLean on the wing, Sessegnon on the bench. Oh Tony.

4-4 Berahino and Silva to score all of them.

Bony can hardly contain his excitement.

    Even WBA are booing Sterling?

    Silva's goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

I really think Myhill could have walked over and saved that.

City looking really good here, West Brom are defending too deep though.

Frantic game this. I can barely keep up.

Very good goal, hopefully WBA will try something now.

    McClean getting booed?

Strangely anemic from a Pulis team at home. Especially first game of the season. You'd expect them to be blood and thunder and flying into tackles. They've basically let City play and pass the ball about.

    City looking very slick.

Nice attacking football unlike the rest of the other top teams this weekend

Yeah it's funny alright. A lot of weaker teams defend against us the same way, sitting back very deep and playing very narrow and compact in front of the box. WBA aren't really closing down much though, too static.

Yep, definitely booing McClean too. Stay classy WBA.

    Berahino did what Sterling should've.

Typical Sterling finish, really needs to improve that.

Goes without saying, he should have buried that.

Good to see the commentators mention McClean is from Londonderry.

That'll put him in his place.

    Silva's great.

Robbie Savage having ago at Sterling for not being able to finish, esp at 49 million

Need Lambert to save me in a head to head FF league. Need an assist or goal and I'll have won it...not looking likely though :P

I had Toure in my fantasy team, took him out on thursday... :(

I wouldn't sell Silva for any amount of money. Incredible.

City certainly looking much more up to speed that other teams. A fluency in attack that no other side has really shown this weekend.

The cocaine sniffing sound effect when the llineups are shown is annoying.

Would be great if Iheanacho could get a run today.

    Silva hardly ever dives either.

    Brilliant stuff from Silva.

City look to be in great shape. Pellegrini's tweaked formation this season, the new signings they've added and could yet add, along with a renewed sense of purpose makes them formidable contenders for the league this season and should allow them to make a stronger push in Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

    Deserved win, WBA completely toothless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Solid performance but jesus, West Brom are bad. I'd fear for them this season. Yeah, City are a step above most teams in this league but they put up no fight or anything.

Obviously hard to judge anything after one week of games but West Brom are possibly the worst team I've seen all weekend.

    Silva is a class act.

48 posts for a match involving a club that is potential champions. Shows how much support they have.

On an Irish site, more posts are generated by the likes of Liverpool and ManU as obviously more people were drawn by their success back in the 80s and 90s and picked them as their favourite club. That won't change quickly...but if Man City keep winning trophies, it will change.
