While filming yesterday I noticed an old hollowed out car sitting off in the background. I wandered over and there she was. 10 years later. The ORIGINAL Impala from season 1. The one that got hit by the truck in the finale. That's right, we still have her. I had no idea. It's been over a decade since I've seen this car, and yet she's still here...hiding in the shadows. I guess you're never really dead on this show. ‪#‎Nostalgia‬ ‪#‎Baby‬

An ok opening episode but that was all for me really.

I just want to see the brothers on the road together again for a while fighting monsters of the week.

I enjoyed it. It felt a bit more stripped back and darker. Very much a Walking Dead vibe too the way the darkness occupies people.

It's always encouraging to hear about Lucifer/Michael even if we're most likely not to see them. What I'd love to see is a season where every episode ties intogether very much advancing the plot every week. But I know by episode 3 or 4 we'll probably be back to case of the week for a while. Also both brothers already lying is not a good sign to see in episode 1.

Glad to have it back and lets see what they do with it. Crowley's orgy and Dean sitting into the car after his big epic speech before realising the wheel was still stuck were hilarious: "You were on a roll" :pac:

Ya, pretty average, but got excited when they mentioned Michael/Lucifer. Would love if they got involved again

Solid start. Wonder if the focus on females is to answer the charge about the show's general issues with women.

    28 Days Later.

    Castiel?

I thought it was a crap opening.

but that may be the editor inside me screaming out those jumpbacks at the beginning where woeful and put me in bad humour throughout the rest of the episode.

also the whole infected humans angle really feels like a massive rethread of the croatoan virus from season 5.

The only hope I have is that the cage was specifically namedropped so perhaps we may get a surprising return to events/characters of season 5

otherwise hohumm another one of the brothers is in trouble by our season's macguffin...

Die hard fan here and I thought it was a poor enough opening. I like the MOTW episodes and the one off funny ones they throw in. This is the first year that I wasn't excited about it being back. Here's hoping it picks up

I'd be inclined to agree with this. My favourite episodes last season were the Monster of the Week ones - the main arc just seems to be more of the exact same thing over the past few seasons so I'm always happier when I see a MOTW, but hopefully they can turn it around again this year and make the main arc more palatable again...

A shame about the deputy, liked her. The angels doing the torture were tools.

    Father Crowley, no less.

Anything with O Death gets a bonus point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Better than the opening episode. Just about.

I liked the reaper. Very threatening (and great singing voice too!)

Glad they didn't drag the arse out of the infection.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

kind of sad that they confirmed this week that they in fact killed death in the last season finale and there is a new death.

Goes back to the issue that every big bad the series introduces just pushes every previous bad down the totem pole. If Lucifer ever did get out of the cage he'd probably be a monster of the week by this point.

Agree slightly better than the first episode. Have to wholeheartedly agree about those angels . Annoying as hell - Glad that's done with.
I liked the reaper too, it seems like there's potential for her and of course Father Crowley cracked me up :)

Akcles directed 11.03, did a solid job.

Hitler rallies and flying furniture - win.

Poor Cas, always just a few clicks away from porn. :pac: :pac:

Hey all, I love supernatural and have watched all the seasons and just watching the first episode of season 11, but I'm just wondering does anyone else feel like its just gone on too long, I just dont feel as interested in it as I used to and I just dont love it like the way I used to like i feel I'm just going to watch it for the sake of watching it.

I dont even know what they're supposed to be doing anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,564 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I felt it's gone on too long a few seasons ago. Now I just watch because I've watched 10 seasons already.

Ya I think I was even feeling like this in the last season as well. IL just continue on watching as well probably for the sake of it. Like I can't even understand how they were able to kill the reaper/death, I feel like I cant even follow the story anymore, I know they can continue on killing supernatural stuff but what's there bigger purpose now???

I wonder how many of the viewers that keep it on the air by watching are in the same boat and just don't want to give up now. Vicious circle. We watch for the sake of watching and they keep making it because we keep watching.

Every season we ask where they can go next and every season they find something. They've fought limbo, heaven and hell and now The Darkness. Considering the darkness scares both heaven and hell, I don't see how they can top it. I suppose next will be from before even God and the Darkness existed. An evil so ancient that no one ever even knew it existed. But it will take the form of a person and be defeated easily enough

Supernatural is still watchable but it's best years are definitely behind it. I'll keep watching it until the end all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That was the most fun episodes in years maybe one of the best ever for me!

This is a rewatch many times episode.

I think I still watch just cause I have massive mancrush on Dean

Aside from that my biggest issue I've raised numerous times on this and the season 10/9 threads is they've depowered the series too much. The series struggles with stand alone episodes because dean and sam can practically one shot angels and demons and the arcs struggle to go places because they never really let any of their threats cut loose.

This is exactly the reason why we're still watching the show and why it's still going. Supernatural is capable of producing some of the best standalone episodes with characters we love on all of television. Humour, genuine care for the characters and a mix of action and cracking tunes.

What a great episode :) I knew within about 2 minutes this was going to be a classic. This was what Supernatural was all about for me, maybe a timely reminder of that too for us.

Cracking episode. Baby is just as important a character as Sam or Dean, so good to get an entire episode from her perspective.

Also, the image of Cas binge watching Orange Is The New Black is fantastic.

Yeah, great episode. I loved the focal point of the cameras dotted around the car and Castiel's calls. :pac:

    The tape deck is back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I only twigged that everything was filmed from the car about half way through the episode (and enjoyed it more from that point on). Clever episode and definitely worth a re-watch. It would have been a brilliant coup if they got JDM for the John Winchester scene.

episode 4 is a proper return to form and one the show really needed to give this season a kick in the arm.

Found the first few episodes to be very meh, but that was a fantastic episode with Baby. Like previous poster said, would have been great to have JDM back but I liked having young John there because that just reminded of the episode where Dean was helping John buying Baby. So found that scene a lot more meaningful and more apt and indirectly brought Dean into the scene, so they were all there, past and presence.

I'd pay to see Cas watching The Wire. :pac:

Another great episode this week. Feels a lot more like the Supernatural of old. Amara shaping up to be one of the best big bads in a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Really good episode that could have been run of the mill but tied in well with the main plot. So far it really is beginning to feel like Amara and the Darkness could be a big bad to attempt to rival the apocalypse!

How many episodes have people watched? I've only seen the first 3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Nice nod to "Nightcrawler" with Metatron :D

God's sister eh? Well that's quite something. It really feels fresh and a throwback to seasons 4/5 at the moment. Who or what on earth (or hell) is Sam seeing in his vision? Is it Lucifer's cage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

they did namedrop the cage in the first episode I think which is the first time it's been mentioned in ages so yeah I think it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

In that case I wonder will we get to see Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) again and for that matter Michael, and their brother who they name-dropped back in the 200th musical episode?

I won't get my hopes up but that would be fantastic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,922 ✭✭✭suffering golfer

Enjoyed that. Isn't it amazing now in how many ghost episodes now (that I remember) that they ask for the body of the deceased, only to be told the body has already been cremated.

    Oddly predictable :pac:

Great to see "fat sucker Donna" again :D. Loved the part about her salt trick and the "... except for salted carmel". That really struck a chord with me as I have a weakness for salted carmel myself :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

disappointed that Donna didnt team up with Jody full time. Really liked that dynamic in the season 10 episode
