Are you going to go for two 1hr walks or one 2hr walk?

Coupled with a healthy diet you should see results soon.

Try and walk uphill for at least part of your walk.

Walking is also excellent for your mental health. Get yourself some tunes going on and walk, walk walk! Bring a brolly too so you've no excuse when it invariably starts raining :p

I swear by Skecher's go-walk runners. I find them especially comfortable.

Best of luck and enjoy it.

i lost all my weight just walking for 1 hour 2-3 times a day. it left me with almost no actual fitness to use once i'd lost the weight but it was useful in burning calories provided i was hopping along at a decent pace

Walking will help. It will increase your fitness and mental health.

But you need to have your calorie intake under control first.
For example. Say your eating 1000 calories over your basic requirements, it's going to be very hard to walk enough to loose weight. 1000 extra calories is easy to consume if your in bad habits.

Exercise is important, but as I saw said on another thread, you can't exercise away a bad diet.

Walking's probably the only form of exercise I enjoy. I live near some lovely towns and I try and get out a few days a month and go for long walks round the area.

Anything that gets you moving more is a good idea. If you'd enjoy walking, go for it. Find a nice route to walk and you're golden.

Weight loss will largely be governed by what you eat and drink but activity will feed into it.

Walking is the only exercise I get. Pretty sure you can loose weight (when combined with a proper diet and all that good stuff). Slowly but life is a distance race not a sprint. My weight went down about a kilogram last week but that is with a lot more walking than I usually do.

Walking will help you lose weight, for sure, as long as you couple it with a good diet. I love walking for getting my head cleared!

Walking is good, not as good as high intensity like sprinting but depending on your current level of fitness it should help you lose weight. But as mentioned here diet is very important, if you eat 500 calories below your maintenance everyday you will lose a pound a week and thats without any walking.

    Best of luck.

p.s. lose is spelled with one 'o'. Loose is used when your shoe laces are loose (sorry pet peeve )
