Had to get this week's line-up off RTE TEN, as the Facebook page has gone quiet:

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard and Irish singer Samantha Mumba are among the guests on this week's Saturday Night with Miriam on RTÉ One.

Callard, who plays Liz McDonald in the soap, will talk about losing her dear friend Anne Kirkbride, the recently-deceased actress who played Street regular Deirdre Barlow.

Seamus Hamilton tell Miriam about losing his 34-year-old wife Melissa Hamilton to breast cancer eight days after the birth of their third child, following two missed opportunities for diagnoses. The case was settled recently in the High Court.

Dublin-born singer and actress Samantha Mumba, who now lives in Los Angeles, will discuss motherhood - and those post-baby bikini pictures that appeared on social media.

Ahead of the 2015 Special Olympics, Miriam speaks to three athletes heading to Los Angeles with Team Ireland. Plus there’s music from Dublin group The Young Folk.

On an already sad day - Jules Bianchi becoming the first driver to die in a Formula 1 race since the great Ayrton Senna in 1994 - two of tonight's guests will be talking about the death of someone close to them. :(:(:(

Perhaps SM and the Special Olympics athletes will provide some cheer.

Ah well. I don't think I am in the right humour for some of those topics, to be honest.

Fair play to the Special Olympians, I think RTE TEN could have given them a namecheck. Even RSVP managed that ...

"Patrick Quinlivan from Donegal, Ashleigh O’Hagan from Limerick and basketball athlete Laura Reynolds from Wicklow will be in studio along with Team Ireland."

I thought Samantha would be on to talk about her new show, in which she teaches an anarcho-punk group to dance rhythmically to Spanish and Cuban music. It's called...

    ...wait for it...

    MUMBARUMBACHUMBAWUMBA!

(It's going to be a long night!)

Can't believe she can take time of her hectic schedule to do an interview, here she is wowing the crowds at the Kremlin Belfast... (That counts as international... right)

I thought her callouts to a clearly disinterested crowd were cringeworthy

No disrespect to the guests - but there is going to be a huge amount of suffering in tonight's programme. I think it was unwise to book two people to talk about losing loved ones to cancer.

With regards to the Special Olympics, I attended the games last year in Limerick and it was wonderful. I just wish people with disabilities and their families were given appropriate access to the basis everyday services they need such as - speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, special needs assistants, resource teaching hours and proper respite services.

Fair play to all involved in the special Olympics, and to all who assist those with special needs to thrive.

I don't believe we've had an unbilled guest for some time.

EDIT: Well, I suppose these other Team Ireland athletes count as unbilled... :o:D;)

GHG, I feel the need to mention Roland Ratzenberger, he was a young Hungarian F1 driver who was killed in Imola the day before Senna. Senna had planned on carrying the Hungarian flag at the end of the Grand prix but he never made it.

Is the whole interview on about becoming a mother? I should have got my mammy on here. It would be as interesting.
