What are yours? Mine used to be ciggies.

My grandfather was a serious drinker. Guinness and Jameson where his addictions.

My mate and colleagues are mad for coffee. They are in a bad humour until they get their caffeine fix.

    What's yours?

Ugh. Men who can't leave down their takeaway coffee. It's so metrosexual and noughties. "I can't function until I get my coffee".

If we step back, we will admit that we are addicted online.

In all seriousness, I was addicted to nicotine for years (8 months off the smokes today!), and I had 'issues' with some benzos I was prescribed for a while. I also used to drink six or more Red Bulls a day.

All healthy and addiction free now, though.

God bless your hands! You must have the shakes.

I definitely have an addictive personality. Used to be a smoker etc.
I get hooked on mundane things. Tv shows. Sweets. Biscuts. Cake. Songs.

Never had tbh! I only have one coffee per day now (when I get up in the morning), so no caffeine problems anymore thankfully.

I had a strong coffee and my pupils dilated and my hands were shaky as hell. I think if I drank your amount of red bulls, that I'd spontaneously combust.

I never really got this caffeine thing at all. It seems like something people say because they feel it's required, not because they really really need coffee.

    Disappointment.

    Disappointment.

You should get used to it.

Nah, caffine is physically addictive. Someone once switched my coffee for decaf as a 'joke'. I had banging headaches for a few days.
    Was grand after that though.

I don't think there is such a thing as caffeine addiction.

One can love coffee, and even experience withdrawal symptoms, but it doesn't come with the compulsive use and physical addiction that marks drugs and alcohol dependence.

I think the word addiction became popular as the twee liked to pretend they are in the grip of some crisis...sipping their Starbucks latte.

Just keep expecting the rest of us to do better. Your disappointment levels will stay high.

Coca-Cola, what a hard thing to stop drinking. I find each day i wanna drink more and more of the stuff.

In the trendy sense of the word, chocolate.

But reality, nothing. Except maybe self defeating thoughts.

Tea. I drink way way way too much of it. It's not a caffeine thing though, because coffee wouldn't give me the same fix but decaf tea would.

Possibly exercise. I get tetchy if I don't exercise for more than a couple of days. Is that the same thing?

Amazon 'buy now with one click' for books- I just can't help myself, and Lucozade from a can.

Yeah that "cool to be a coffee addict" thing is a bit tiresome. It's a very easy addiction to break anyway, not like tobacco, alcohol, certain drugs. Just be honest, you like being an 'addict' because it's "cool" to drink coffee these days...but Maxwell House doesn't cut it for your Aoife's and Fintan's in the office. Oh no. It must be made by a 'barista' or at least from a Nespresso machine.

These kind of people are a marketers dream.

    Tea is nicer anyway.

    Just the heroin.

Only joking! I'm not addicted to it. If I stop taking it, I feel awful, so it's obviously really good for me. It stops the dead baby from walking across the ceiling.

Six or more cans of red bull?! Good god, your pee must have smelled like rocket fuel! Plus.. How did you ever get to sleep?!

I try to avoid things that could potentially be addictive, but I have succumb to tea. However I've replaced what I'd normally drink with herbal or decaf and have noticed the difference.

Went out late one night and drank 6 vodkas and red bull to catch up and get in the mood.

Went back to pints after, but always remember was wired afterwards trying to sleep, it was like BZP. Never again.
