I'd have one twice a day but like all things pleasurable Mrs Frazz decides frequency, what's on offer and who tideys up.

Christ was expecting something else when I opened this!!!.only have the fry when I'm away, count of a feed to have in morning when busy.sits in stomach like lead and always thirsty .normal breakfast entails big bowl of porridge ,2 mugs black coffee and the mothers brown bread and grab a bit of fruit on way out .also check out boards,Twitter ,Facebook, the weather and the independent app whilst shovelling all that into me

Frys on tap this time of year at home with the b&b..gets to a stage where you'd feel sick seeing the rasher and sausage fridge in a shop!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,100 ✭✭✭bogman_bass

I cant handle a fry first thing in the morning. I just crave carbs when I get up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,482 ✭✭✭✭whelan2

you can have a healthy fry, rashers with no fat, gluten free sausages, mushrooms ,eggs, tomatoes and beans all fried in fry light

    Carefully worded title, Mac :D
Would very very seldom have fried salt/rasher/sausage at home. Omelette or potato bread pethaps.

As for the other, have it less often than a fry:eek:

I don't like the fries in cafés or hotels so just eat cereal when I'm away. prefer buying nice, good quality stuff and grilling stuff at home. maybe once a month

Thats no good Daisy , you need to get more sausage :D

The fry depends where I'm working, could have it every day for a week or not for weeks.
The " other " is a daily occurance lately :D

Not that often anymore. Like the rest is have it when I'm away or on the very odd job working away from home and knowing it will be a late one. They are too heavy on your stomach to get a heap of work done.

On a Saturday and Sunday the boss lady will grill a rasher, sausage and scrambled eggs for me and the kids. Odd weekend we have pudding. Not too much with her homemade brown bread. Only ever have the whole hog when away. Christ but its a nice change from 4 weetabix and slice of toast in my mouth rushing out the door. Whatever the morning I cannot leave the house without a strong cup of tay.

    You are right
But only way to buy cooked sausages is in a bag with chips & loads of ketchup

Mr Aneoil cooks a full Irish breakfast for us every Saturday and Sunday.

During the working week he wouldn’t have the time to do that.

Breakfast at the weekends consists of two maple rashers (grilled), two sausages from Supervalu (originally Superquin sausages

also grilled), two black puddings ( we did experiment with puddings, but Clonakilty are my favourite), two grilled, halved cherry

tomatoes and mushrooms cooked on a griddle pan so that the juice is in the mushrooms. One egg fried sunny side up. Homemade

brown bread and a big mug of tea.

Does anyone go to a local for the full breakfast?

Sometimes pop into Mother Hubbards down by Moyvalley for a full breakfast with a few lads when having a catchup.

This is of vital importance. I generally buy one specific loaf of bread in Lidl. I dont slice it until I want to use it. Then I cut it fairly thick. The most important bit is next. I toast it. On ONE side only, (What sort of a wierdo would toast bread on both sides!) butter with butter, not imitation butter, a bit of local honey and down the hatch with a mug of strong tea.

On the fry subject. Extremly rarely. If I stay in a hotel I'll generally take scrambled eggs and a rasher .

Tip - fry a few chopped onions and mushrooms first in the pan and then leave to one side. Then do the usual. I never thought a Full Irish could be improved....hmmmm:rolleyes:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,173 ✭✭✭✭Muckit

Christ but its a nice change from 4 weetabix and slice of toast...

3 on their edge and one broken in two each side? Ya hound!! I've all me growing done so don't do it anymore!

As regards frys, I would have them rarely but go all out when I do. They have to be actually fried in a pan or cooked in a casserole dish in oven, either way I want all the grease! A fry that's grilled is like eating sweet cake that's made with no sugar!

Yes. Downeys in Ballinasloe. Savage feed. The whole shebang. Includes beans. As much tea and toast as you can manage. I always have a slice of toast with butter and marmalade for 'dessert.'

AKA Chemical salad. If you want a fry, have a fry. Otherwise buy some Soylent Green.

Toast has to be cold and hard as a board with creamery butter and fruitfield no peel marmalade and tay like tar!! better than any jelly and custard.
