Chicken Wings

Chicken wings are basically a staple in my diet now, I have them for my lunch nearly everyday. I get them from the butchers, marinated in a BBQ sauce and cook them in the oven.

Now I know that wings are essentially the worst part of the chicken and have a high enough fat content, but for a person who eats relatively healthily other than the wings and who does a reasonable amount of cardio, how bad are these wings affecting my weight loss do you think? I'm basically trying to lose weight while maintaining/putting on muscle. I'm 5'8" 150lbs and although that's not that heavy I've got quite a high bodyfat percentage. I'm working with a calorie deficit but can the chicken wings fit into my macros? I ideally would like to stay at my weight and just lower the bf%, are wings too fatty to allow this to happen?

    Thanks

Yes they are very bad for a weight loss and fat loss, especially marinated, and do you have to eat them almost everyday? Try to eat them ones in a week for start :)

I wouldn't consider chicken wings to be the worst thing to eat. Don't worry about the fattiness of the chicken. I'd be slightly concerned with the sugar content (and whatever else) of the bbq sauce though.

Try different marinades using different combinations of spices and eat away.

I'm still working a calorie deficit so they wouldn't really affect my weight loss per se, I'm just wondering the extent they'd affect my body composition, if eaten with a proper exercise regime.

As far as I know the portion I'm eating would be approximately 750 calories, with the marinade being about 150-200 calories of that depending on the day. The sugar I wouldn't be worried about at all, as my diet is almost void of any simple carbs aside from post workout, I'm mainly wondering about macros and how the high fat content will affect it, I try to keep my fat to about 35-40g of fat per lb but obviously the chicken wings are at least 30g of fat and it doesn't give me much room for healthy fats that I can get from fish and eggs, so is it feasible with the right amount of cardio to eat chicken wings everyday?

Think I might be better suited asking in a bodybuilding or general sports forum as I get the impression people here are more focused purely on weight loss alone and there's a bit of spoof going around(not aimed at you, just the general jist I'm getting from reading threads, aside from a few experts people don't seem to be able to elaborate on what they're saying).

    Thanks anyway! :)

i don't see how they'd affect your composition really. maybe when you get down to the real low bf%'s some weird ass **** will start to happen.. if the fats aren't good healthy fats then your long term health will be affected and as it stands now the lack of healthy fats might affect your hormones and vitamin absorption, which could have knock on effects in your general well being

but in terms of muscle growth and fat loss.. i don't think it's really relevant.

why do you try to keep fat so low anyway?
