It wasn't a conversation per say, I wrote that wrong. The black female presenter there responded to paddypower on her twitter a couple of times, that was it. It just struck me as a bit odd the whole thing.

it was odd arlight cause it clearly wasn't her that said it:confused:
what an odd news network Fox are

Depends on the context really. Was she saying omg hes a leprachaun ( Irish) I cant stand him? If so id be offended. But if she was just qualifying himnas a leprachaun (Irish) and then saying she couldn't stand him ( cause hes a bit of a knob) then im fully behind her!... Cause he is tbh!

everyone loves being offended by everything these days

If you're offended by being called a 'leprechaun' then I think you're a bit touched, I would agree that that news anchor is a bitch though.

I live in the US and back in my single days a couple of times an american girl iin a bar has made a joke about being irish and leprechauns in my presence.

My response was "I'm 1/8th leprechaun and I find that offensive."

In a country where everybody is 1/8th something and a little ignorant to the world outside the US and massively fears being called a racist, the reactions were hilarious. So many bit their tongue straight after and couldn't tell if i was being serious or not.

To be fair I think as far as responses go its fairly acceptable. She didn't back -track in the usual faux repentant spiel a PR company churned out! She was quite honest! She just happens to think hes a tosser...... leprachaunism aside!

Good response, her colleagues were getting abuse on Twitter so she needed to issue a statement on the matter.

Ya she doesn't like him fair enough

Just "leprechaun". Jesus, I can't get my head around someone even thinking of using that - like calling someone a Mórbeag or something

I'd point out there that context means a lot. I don't mind "leprechaun", it's a silly word, but I would mind if someone used the word as an insult, connected to "I can't stand them".

Edit: Also, I don't effing care. If she's reporting on sports, she should report on the sport, not his private life. What the hell does his nationality have to do with whether he's a dick or not?

Imagine what she'd have called Tiger Woods if he had had an accident playing soccer. :/

She'd say something like "He's such a Pussy Forester!" (Cause his names tiger and woods, not because he's an African American, some of my best friends are African American, though they're not from America or Africa)
