whats your biggest character flaw?

I would say I'm a bit too giving of my time sometimes. I do things for others that wouldn't necessarily be done for me, which may leave me open to be taken advantage of. I get annoyed that the same wouldn't be done for me. I expect too much.

I wish I was able to shake off rejection and heavy criticism off as easily as I would like. I get over it fairly quickly but it still stings for a good while. I like to think im doing well in something and am disheartened when someone doesn't share my positivity. I find nastiness and pettiness hard to deal with and it gets to me quite easily.

my procrastination is something which could be worked on as well, don't leave until tomorrow what can be done today.

If that was an interview question, I'd say that I'm just tooo focused, pay tooo much attention to detail, am tooo much of a workaholic, take on tooo much responsibility, and that I neglect my home life because my work is just that important to me.

The interviewers would totally believe me too. I'm pretty sure of that.

The truth is I'm too easily hurt, and I'm too insecure.

I'm a workaholic and I really care about and have too much compassion for people. I'm also sarcastic.

Isn't the term 'character flaw' just a fancy word for 'sin'?

Sometimes I misdirect my frustration and take it out on people who don't deserve it, ie family members. Addressing this remains a work in progress.

My self-confidence isn't the best. I recently did an aptitude test that I was told I 'aced' except one module. I'm much more annoyed by not doing well in that one module than I am pleased at nailing the others.

I've been told I don't take criticism well. Not quite correct: I can take valid criticism ... it's ignorant criticism that winds me up. :o

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Nah, you're being a bit hard on yourself. "Dickhead" is in the eye of the beholder. (Ow.)

I think I should amend my previous response to "inappropriate sense of humour".

I generally dislike ignorant people, don't suffer fools gladly, am extremely intolerant of smelly people, cannot stand bad manners, have a pathological hatred of poor time keeping, and refuse to associate myself with losers and wasters.

    Apart from that, I'm grand.

Edit: In fact, on reflection, I'm not even sure if these count as flaws...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,166 ✭✭✭Tasden

I forgive people way too easily. Give people way too many chances, to the detriment of my own happiness at times, then when I am finally done with someone its a no going back kind of thing.

I also have a habit of opening up too much to people who hurt me, telling them exactly why and how they have hurt me, and then instantly regretting it because I feel weak.

And I can't work on a project properly unless the deadline is looming. Always have the best of intentions to work away at it with plenty of time but then leave it til a week or so before its due.

I get irrationally angry about the small things. Throw me a shark infested volcano eruption, and I'll deal with it calmly. But put somebody slow walking in front of me and I'll want to stab them in the eye.
