Arts Internat. languages vs Applied languages & translatation

    Hey,

    I was wondering if anyone could tell me the differences between international languages as part of an arts degree and the applied languages & translation studies courses?

    Doing international languages as part of the Arts degree gives you the option of picking only one language. So you could study Japanese with another subject or Chinese with another subject or whatever combinations are allowed. With the Applied Languages course you must study two languages and your other modules are related to Translation Studies (which you wouldn't do as much of in the Arts programme).

    Also the year abroad is compulsory for the Applied Languages programme but optional for the Arts programme.
