    Hi All,

Appreciate any advise on the below.
Looking to go on an fitness holiday in the next few months. Can anyone recommend any that they have been on or heard about?
Looking for something quite intense and where I will be pushed hard and also with a good atmosphere as will be going alone.

Have seen one or two in Thailand, Spain, Portugal and Ibiza but hard to know which ones are good.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

What's a fitness holiday? If you were going to Spain or Portugal would you not be better off sightseeing and/or getting hammered than getting fit which can easily be done here?

I have also never heard of a fitness holiday but I am very interested in hearing what it is?

Pretty sure it's something like the biggest looser without the cameras/competition. Basically folks live in a house and train all day and have everything catered for them etc.

I actually think there's one in Ireland...

ISI Algarve Retreat is worth a look. Think they have one in August.

Got great reports from people I know who've been on it.

We ran one last summer in Whites Hotel in Wexford and it was a big hit.

Training holidays are awesome. If you're passionate about sometihng it makes a lot of sense that you'd go and enjoy yourself with a bunch of other lunatics doing similar :)

Great advice as always from people on this forum:rolleyes:. I for one would be interested in places you could holiday with first class gym facilities in Portugal or Spain. You could get plenty of sight seeing in between a couple of gym sessions! and getting hammered on holidays might not be everyones cup of tea.
Yes you can get easily fit here, but its nice to go on holidays too.....So has anyone any actual recommendations??

I think it sounds like a great idea. Spend two weeks going to the gym, running in the sun, swimming in the sea - your body will get the clear message and get itself into shape for the rest of the year, and then you can relax when you get home and go back to your normal life.

It's like dieting. I did this amazing one that had me plummeting in weight for five days straight and it fixed me forever.

As opposed to sightseeing or getting hammered, which are expressly forbidden in Ireland.

Go to marbella. Stay near ultimate performance. Enjoy.

Or if funds allow, have a look at this: http://isipersonaltraining.businesscatalyst.com/isi-algarve.html

I'm sure there's other people doing it, but they're the two that jump to mind.

I went to Spala Olympic training facility in Poland a couple of years ago.

    It was fantastic.

Flew into Warsaw, taxi to Spala and for €50 per night you got all you can eat for 3 meals a day, access to all gym equipment, Olympic bars, plates etc, indoor running tracks, Cryotherapy, swimming pool etc.
Massages are extra and wifi is 50c a day.

It wasn't boot campy, you had to bring your own motivation but if you go with a few like minded friends, it can be brilliant.

Looks fun. Would be interested in that. Didn't know such places existed!
