Most colors that new Ford's come in these days.

    Specifically, dark green

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of silver TBH, its just to bland for my liking.

If I can avoid getting a silver car I will, I've done silver in my first car, 98 corolla hatchback so I think ive done my time in that regard. :o

    Brown. qpa.gif

    White.

    Solid red.

    And any other non-metallic colour.

    +1

Although it seems most new cars now are either black, grey, silver or white.

Purple or maroon don't do anything for me.

Don't like red for some reason. Mind scarred by too many Carinas going round with faded now pink paint

    Pink

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,201 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

Green, pink, yellow, brown.. probably red too because it fades - maroon might look ok - saw a Mazda 6 recently in that colour that looked well!
There's a little Fiat or similar hatchback outside the office here that's almost a turquoise blue with pink alloys!

Last 2 cars have been metallic black - although that blue/grey I had on the first A6 I bought was nice :)

That dark blue is a notable exception imo.

Most have been mentioned already but in defense of green on the right car British racing green can be lovely, I had a 1991 MX5 in British Racing Green with tan leather and a wooden steering wheel that looked the business

The biggest downside I see with green is that other motorists don't see you on country roads, always best to have the headlights on to aid with visibility in a green car

My first car was a Peugeot 206 in green and it didn't look too bad

Red can be perfect on some cars and if there is a decent lacquer on it then it shouldn't fade, it isn't as much of a problem on newer cars

Not a fan of silver either but when buying second hand sometimes you can't afford to be too fussy, my current car an Alfa 147 is silver and it looks alright, would have preferred a different colour but the deal on the car was too good to turn down

I don't think there is a colour, certain cars and colours are great while others are awful.

I'd happily drive a pink car for instance.....if it was a 58 Caddy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,526 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Silver, my god that colour drives me nuts.

Or that Mercedes Beige/Gold that even your grandparents would be ashamed to drive in.

    BMW Techno Violet (purple).

    White.

Anywhere and anytime out of the original Miami Vice TV series and its grounds for a sledge hammer through the window.

It all depends on the car.

Some colours do work well with certain cars.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,438 ✭✭✭✭endacl

Infra red. Or ultra violet. Wouldn't be seen in those. Dead or alive.

Your dad was right. I once bought a green Xantia.
That was two mistakes right there.......

The only colour car I would never buy again is metallic dark grey/graphite, i.e. 'road' coloured. I had so many near misses in that car with people obviously not seeing me it was unreal.

Black. To much like a hearse and hard to keep clean.

Cream - just wrong. No matter what car it is. Like some cars get away with yellow, but cream... Ffs.

My first car was a Brown '82 Starlet.

    Proper sh1t brown too.

Got a slagging from my mates at the time, but I didn't give a crap, none of them had wheels and I got 3 years trouble free driving out of it.

Depends on the car.....on first thoughts brown springs to mind, then I do occasionally see a brown M5 around Waterford (08 D reg I think) which I could see myself in.

VW had the most awful An Post green colour that I've seen one or two 03/04 Golfs in, that would get my vote

Yeah some of the newer brown paints can be nice IMO, I like the sepang bronze on the e60 and the new mk7 golf has a brown colour which seems to be pretty popular, it's a nice change from silver anyway.

Pink, most non metallic colours, maroon, brown and silver are hideous.

I love white, black, metallic grey and some metallic blue and reds. The st blue could do with being a tad deeper IMO.

Well for years it seems that it was the law that all Irish cars had to be silver shading to black.

I now hate silver/grey/graphite cars, in wet weather they are invisible, and I did drive one for four years. Never had as many near misses.

Depends very much on the car, bigger cars look better in dark shades, black, grey or dark blue.
Some look good in cream, think about the fiat 500.
The only colour I did see that I thought was terrible was the solid grey on a Hyundai i10.
It didn't suit that car at all.
Most of the ones I have seen were rentals.

Not getting all this hate against the colour white :P my last 2 cars have been white and it's easy keep clean :)

I wouldn't be a fan of the gold colour on some of the Hyundai's but other than that I don't care :)

It was called the V Special I think, Jap Import alright, had to change the radio in it to pick up any stations over here but other than that it never needed a thing while I owned it

Fantastic little car and that model in particular was lovely

Pink most definitely a no no.

After that depends on car and shade of colour.

There's a browny-green metallic colour that I've seen a number of cars in, as diverse as newish (132) Ford Fiestas and Nissan Qashqais. I've also seen it on a Merc E Class. It's horrible, the colour of horseflies and cow manure. Why anyone would choose it as a colour for a car is really beyond me.

I think this might be it, though it's hard to tell from the photo: http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/ford/fiesta/used-2013-131-ford-fiesta-zetec-1-0-6-dublin-fpa-161814321331776330

Darker version available for insignia called mahogany I think, on colour snaps it's kinda awful but in flesh on car actually looks nice.
