The new Aldi berries and cream ice lollies are lovely. Water ice but with a tiny bit of ice cream mingled in, so taste a bit like a fruit split.

That said they're nearly three euro for a pack of four really small lollies, primarily ice. Prices in Aldi have really gone up.

Tried both the Everything and Jalapeño-Cheese bagels over the weekend. They're nice, but definitely not as dense or chewy as a good bagel should be. Still, very tasty for the price.

Aldi stocking Oshii Sushi products soon

You can’t get good bagels in Ireland. I’ve given up 😔

Brennan's make nice fresh bagels I find. A lot of choice flavours in our local big Dunnes. Most bagels in our supermarkets tend to be long life, but Brennans have a short self life, which indicates they are fresh with no preservatives..

My current favourite are the Dunnes Simply Better, Made with Sourdough, ones. When not on offer, they're €3 for 4 and as per above, would have a shorter shelf life than a lot of the other brands. They freeze well too.

We have been getting these satin crunch crisps things from Aldi, in general quite like them, but there is definitely something wrong with the packaging of the last batch

The ones where you can see the white on the back are not a good seal at all, some of them are even fully open.

Out of two 6 packs we got on Monday, 8 packs were like this, we brought them back in and got them replaced, have 7 like it in the new two packs

Id definitely bring them back, there's a big flowery thing growing out of one of them

Speaking of crisps, Aldi have a ridged Thai sweet chicken packet that are a knock off of the McCoy's Thai sweet chicken.

The McCoy's version are my favourite crisps but they're very hard to find here, Aldi version comes very close. Not quite as spicy as the mccoys version unfortunately.

Does anyone else find the new Aldi site awful for displaying their products since they stopped click and collect? They don't have any of their soft drinks listed at the moment as an example.

Yes, also they have removed the nutritional info, ingredients, and cooking instructions from the site. I like to be able to find info on their products online, even if I'll be shopping in person.

Budvar Tmavy Lezak is back in stock, really delicious dark lager, I always make sure to get a few bottles when it comes in. My local Aldi was almost sold out of it this afternoon having been fully stocked yesterday.

Do Aldi still do the small flavoured tuna cans? They were quite nice.

My Aldi are either having supply issues or poor merchandising. For example their ice cream fridge usually only has one or two of the many varieties. It's as if the staff opened a box & filled the fridge with just one. The same happens with the large pasta dishes. A section full of Lasagne but no Chicken & Tomato.

My local Aldi is always missing items also. The ready-meals secion is mostly empty all week. The bread shelves are very bare many days. The frozen jacket potatoes sell out and aren't replaced for a couple of weeks at a time.

They haven't had frozen carrots since before Christmas. But frozen carrots seems to be an issue across all stores. Only Tesco stocks normal frozen carrots here now, and they go out of stock regularly. Dunnes only have Green Isle baby carrots which aren't the same, though at least they're consistently in stock.

Well I finally got around to trying this and I see they've reduced the price to 2 euro which is a bit more reasonable but nothing special. I found it a bit stale even though it was still four days in date.

Aldi Metro Rolls, their take on Subway. Perfect for BBQ sandwiches. I aways have them in the freezer.

They have some sauces too. I saw sweet onion, chipotle mayo, and marinara.

The Côtes de Gascogne that's currently in the wine specials is excellent. Only 8 quid and ABV of 10.5%, which is great, anything over 11% kills me.

I pop frozen rolls ( or semi stale ones) into a hot oven for few minutes maybe with a splash of water on them first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 121 ✭✭Eeshaw

I just leave them on the worktop for half an hour.

Ate the kimchi koftas from the vegetarian freezer area. Very decent . I slow cooked them first in bbq sauce and finished off in air fryer

The Fiesta hot sauce is worth a punt. Took a few weeks to arrive in my local but i picked up a bottle at the weekend. Not too dissimilar to Cholula original tbh. Like Cholula though it's actually not particularly hot.

    I'm a Rock n Roll Amputation
