The absence of consistency in the middle-lower orders has been a bit of a worry over the past while with not many runs coming past Balbo really. Tector and Tucker have shown some good stuff but we need more if we come up against better attacks. Having said that, this has been an impressive performance with the ball, the first match in a while I can remember us defending a relatively small total.

Gareth Delaney has shown some promise with the bat as well. Agree though, doesnt seem to be a lot after number 3

Looking like a good comeback, although I don't want to speak to soon!

  • Registered Users Posts: 583 ✭✭✭Is1ldur

    And another wicket!

Brilliant spin bowling at the death by Dockrell and Delany. How many is that between them in the last two overs? 3?

What has Gary Wilson averaged in the tri series in Dublin, the series against Zimbabwe in the North and in the summer and this Pentangular series? Tucker has to get the gloves soon. He has youth on his side and has been good with the bat any time I've seen him.

It was great having your man back doing commentary. What's his name again?

To be fair to Cricket Ireland they get some good commentators for their service.

    Great response

Good to get that win. Friday week the qualifiers begin with HK first up for Ireland

    18/10 v HK
    19/10 v UAE
    21/10 v Oman
    23/10 v Canada
    25/10 v Jersey
    26/10 v Nigeria

Group winners qualifiy automatically. 2nd and 3rd into semi final playoffs. 4th into 5th place playoffs.

    Very good win.

We have to give Tucker the gloves ASAP. He should have had them for this series with Wilson out of the team.

This qualifying tournament is so important for Irish cricket I feel in the long run. Get through and we will be able to go to a (kind of) World Cup with a fresh team that not many of the other sides would know much about.
