    Hiya all.

We've just set up a Facebook page for our Smallholding.

It's Dun Roaming Smallholding and Open Farm. Ireland

Please have a look and if you like what you see give us a 'like', or even better, drop by and visit us!

We also have a 'Granny Flat' to rent for Smallholding weekends so that those of you who are aspiring Smallholders can get a feel of what is involved in the day to day running of a working smallholding!
There will be an itinerary of sorts for the weekend, but with this lifestyle you never know what your walking out into in the morning!!

    Thanks

    Hi Tattycat.

Your open farm looks very impressive, how have you been getting along with it. We also have turned our small farm into an open farm and farm shop. Our facebook page is Gort na Cille Heritage. This is our third summer being open and we've found our biggest challenge being the shortness of the tourists season as there is not the population where we live to allow us to stay open all year so we are keeping and feeding animals all year only to be open and displaying them for three months in the summer.

Hiya. Thanks for your kind comments.
We haven't been open for very long and are finding footfall and all year round interest a problem too. We should up or advertising too...
As we have all the animals for our own use keeping them is no extra expense. How is your farm shop going? Have you support from the locals?
I had a look at your page and your flowers look wonderful! ! We grew Sweet Williams one year and no one wanted them. ..we'll keep at it though☺☺
