Barcelona stuff and thing to do

I will be in Barcelona the last 2 weeks of July staying at the Jazz hotel and looking to pick yer brains
I wanted to start a new thread on this hope thats ok.
- Eat and drink during the day/night (will stay away from ramblas)
-Unique/funky bars to visit in the city. (someone mentioned the dow jones bar)
-Day trips you would recommend and must sees in the city. So far i have port aventura and montserrat.
-Different or spanish food you would recommend trying, obviously piella but anything else.
-Good venues for live music.
