I have no interest in seeing images of people being mutilated, murdered or tortured. I just don't need those images in my life.

Black and white footage of skeletal concentration camp victims being bulldozed into mass graves is as gruesome as I ever want to see.

Just a couple of generations ago images such as the South Vietnamese soldier shooting his prisoner were extremely shocking.
Now someone dismembering a corpse, eating the flesh and masturbating with the victims hand can be viewed? What will it take to shock in another couple of generations?

For a module before I had to spend around 2 hours a week in the cadaver labs. I wouldn't really find anything disgusting any more.

Russia seems to breed scum. Videos of kids and teenagers murdering homeless people and just randomly beating the crap out of OAP's.

I have seen the ISIS beheading stuff but the Russian crap is barbaric..

I was a forklift instructor so looked at these sites for videos of not how to do it.

They are full of blood and gore now.

Three guys one hammer was pretty bad. There are definitely things out there that are way more gory but I found that one was so disturbing. How young the people doing it were, the poor guy getting killed just not having the strength or temperament to defend himself, the fcuking laughter, the fact that they were filming it to watch back for kicks, the fact that they killed 20 other people; and this wasn't a crime of war where the people who are carrying out the violence are probably themselves brutalised and operating in a context where this sort of stuff is to some extent normalised or perceived as justified (not that those aren't awful), just sheer...not sure what the word is.

Russia has had an incredibly bloody history over the last century, PTSD and being a bit mental seems to be ingrained into their psyche at this stage.

If the videos and comments on liveleak are anything to go by Brazil is the new Russia.

Not to be generalising the Russians. But there is a disproportionate amount of hard men nut jobs that come from there. Machoism is a big thing over there among young men.

I worked with a Russian guy who was in the army from 18 to about 26 I think. He said when they were in early days of training, the captain/corporel would literally box the head of them every morning to harden them up. As in, they would wake, stand to attention, and he would go along and give beatings. So first you could get a kung fu style kick to the stomach. If you showed strength and didn't wince too much he would move along. If you showed pain and weakness then he would keep going.

I was shocked. I asked if this was just a renegade captain. Nope, standard enough. You can get some captains that don't hit as hard as others. But it's accepted as a method of training.

So you can imagine the attitude of young men that come out of the army. They are hard hard nuts, albeit some of them are damaged psychologically for life and go into a shell.

The vids from South America are all drug related shootings and the odd chop.

Going by the videos, South Americans are doing it as payback for some debt. The Russians do it for fun.

I'm not tryng to say that Russian society isn't violent, I just don't like the whole tarring people with the one brush business. That said, having seen a huge amount of dashcam footage the thought of driving in Russia terrifies me!

Ah tarring with the one brush shouldn't always be picked upon. Obviously when I say them Russian boys are mental, we know there are good and bad. But it is a generalisation that has basis.
