Interesting to see "under the hood" of Boards so to speak. I wonder does every user get one of those assessments or only those which come to the attention of authorities by being banned, made Mods etc.

The emails are actually fake. I think. Mr. E might be real.

And it's admin tool only AFAIK. Pretty sure every account has a record anyway

If wee all started being massive tools and re-regging like mad could one of them be tricked?

    Mr. E is definitely real.

I used to run a couple of profiles at the same time until one day I had a pm from MR. E on both accounts inboxes telling me I should only ever have one account!

I don't think i've ever been spooked as much from the internet as I was that day!

This is about my six or eigth account in 6 years.

The only means any website has to track you is your ip address and the mac address of the piece of hardware you're connecting from.

If you buy a new computer and/ or move house / use tor or some other encrypted browser or proxy solution there isn't any real way boards can stop people re-regging.

I'd be disappointed if mine didn't include "c*nt" somewhere

Why's it say 'backtraced' beside the e-mail part though? Admins on dat detective time?

Don't think buying a new PC or house is worth a boards account to be fair :pac:

    Of course it isn't!

I've just observed this from experience (i.e. i've moved a lot) and from taking a look at boards cookie policy and examining what they store about you.

If you use tor there's basically nothing anyone can do to identify you online, provided you are reasonably careful.

    Who writes the zrating part?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,241 ✭✭✭✭Kovu

    Who writes the zrating part?

All the mods really. Every so often we get a list of posters and we have to look at some of their posts and write down three words that comes to mind of their character. These are then crossmatched and the resulting common characteristics are your zrating.

Do you realise how much interest in everyone's zrating you've just piqued?

    Suddenly I feel self conscious!
So the adjectives used for descriptive purposes are changing all the time then as different mods review you?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,241 ✭✭✭✭Kovu

That would be an ecumenical matter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

I'm going to go on that credit rating website to find my zRating...
