It's Friday night, I'm not out. So why not just have a thread about the type of bread you buy?

    Sure, why not.
    I'll go first...

I love white bread. Fresh bouncy Brennan's pan, but I can't actually have it as it gives me chronic stomach pain, so now I buy Brennan's Be Good wholemeal bread and it's nice.
    Nothing ever beats white though.

    What's your loaf of choice?

I do sometimes wonder what sorta stuff is in Brennans bread to make it stay fresh for seemingly much longer than other brands. It's like the stuff doesn't want to mould at all!

Brennans white (half-pan - because I like it really fresh).

    What?
Brennan's is stale the day after you buy it!
I'd be more worried about their Sandwich Pan, which does stay bouncy for days.

Toasted brown bread for breakfast is pretty much all I eat breadwise these days...not too fussed about the brand.

Partial to a nice sandwich on batch every now and again...minus the crusts.

Anything wholemeal. White bread is devil's poop, only way more unhealthy.

If store-bought, tiger loaf or Burgen Soya Linseed bread. But I much prefer my weekly homemade sourdough.

Sourdough baguette (or anything tbh) from the bretzel in portobello.

I count myself lucky to live within reach of it.

It's rare to find a brown bread that's actually fresh and soft!

Not trying to diss you by any means, but sometimes conditions like this can be caused by anxiety.

I know this from experiance. If I have a hangover of are worried about a situation, I don't eat much.

Sleep is another issue. I sleep like a rock no matter whats going on.

Stress affects people in different ways.

I heard that too but luckily I don't have any worries or anything to stress about (touch wood), so I'm just unfortunate.

It's not only white bread that aggravates me, it's also chipper food or anything cooked in oil.
I get the most severe cramps.

chia seed wholemeal bread. It doesn't last long in freshness but it's damn good.

Any of those 'half brown half white' loaves. Hungry now for toast with melted butter on it!

I cannot eat sliced bread unless it's toasted.

Anything wholemeal with plenty of seeds. Most of the Irish white sliced pans are utter shyte.

Best - the soda bread I made earlier today. Demolished the entire loaf with lashings of butter while it was still warm from the oven.

Worst - white sliced pan is horrible stuff. Gives me woeful heartburn.

I am in the make it yourself category too. Tend to vary it as much as possible so the bread available in this house can be quite varied over time.

There is a pack of Tomato and Fennel bread you can get in Tesco and elsewhere I presume, made by Odlums. Just add water and mix and bake.

I usually add half a chopped tomato to keep it more moist, and some seeds if I have them.

    It is very good bread.

Lovely crusty white loaves from sainburys, or brennans. I hate brown and wholegrain bread.
