Can someone recommend the best protein product a teen (16) can get to build some muscle and no longer be the skinny stick figure that I currently am.

If you have any other recommendations as to foods and snacks, then feel free to let me know. Btw I'm not really a cook so I can't really just go ahead and make myself fancy protein dishes.

I don't think the brand of protein matters. MyProtein is nice and cheap, and lots of flavours are available.

If you want to put on weight I'd suggest you start counting calories using MyFitnessPal and figure out through trial and error how many calories you need to put on weight. Once you know that it's simply a matter of eating that amount of calories and getting in a decent amount of protein. I'd eat >100 g of protein at least. I've been lifting 7 months and have put on 8kg or so, the above information is purely based on my experience.

This is where you need to change. Cooking food is what you will need to do if you want to make gains. You will need to eat more than dinners cooked by mammy. Learn to cook chicken, steak, eggs, pasta and rice, fish, as these are staples for anyone looking to bulk up. Protein shakes are a handy supplement, but should never be seen as substitutes for real food.

To answer your question though, try bulkpowders or myprotein as they're the best price:quality ratio.

Eggs are easy especially as there's so many ways to cook them. Offal such as Liver and Kidney are cheap and have more protein than chicken and other meats, I'm sure you could grill them.

This even scrambled eggs can be done in the microwave. 3 eggs beaten in a bowl, splash of milk, zap in the microwave for about a minute beat again with a fork and repeat at one minute intervals or less. Slap two slices of toast in the toaster for the last minute. A large glass of milk with this and you will be good for about 600 calories and 40gr of protein.

You will have a body that reflects your lifestyle. If you look for tricks and shortcuts you will look like someone that relies on tricks and shortcuts. It is great that you want to improve but you'll just be frustrated and disappointed if try to find the easy way. Learning to cook is one of the best things a young person can do for themselves. It will save you money, keep you healthy and give you independence. Scrabbling an egg in a pot is super easy, I wouldn't bother with a microwave.

    Are you lifting weights?

Yes i agree. Learning to cook is something I will definitely learn this summer and beyond. I think as anyone would do is find the quickest way to go get work done so that's why I was asking if they had any other quick nutritional snacks they would like to share.

And yes I am lifting weights. I do a workout 3 times a week which I think is sufficient especially when I am trying to bulk and gain mass

Sometimes I focus on certain areas but a lot of the times I wing it really. Do you have any program routine you would like to share or any tips on making a program myslef???

You need something basic but that has a progression built into it.

Have a look at something like Stronglifts or Starting Strength. They're decent starting points.

If you're mostly just winging it then you're getting very little out of it.

Two eggs and a banana into a blender. Heat a frying pan with some coconut oil, add the mixture. Flip once the base is solid and fry for one further minute. Remove to a plate and lather with your preferred nut butter.

Is this as revolting as it sounds?

Tastes so good. Play with flavours, you could add cinnamon, vanilla, coconut milk or berries.

Don't knock it til you try it. The two egg + banana combo is a basic paleo pancake. Doesn't taste of egg or of banana.
