Proper italian bolognese with tagliatelle. Pasta is so goddamn good. I try not to eat much of it but I didn't eat anything yesterday because I was so sick so I'm not going to feel a bit sorry about it.

Things have been a bit hectic in Haus Von Bismarck over the past few weeks. I've been guilty of ordering sushi from my local Japanese the majority of evenings. Decided I'd russell up something a bit more comforting this afternoon. So I'm just about to tuck into slow braised lamb shank, with apricots, prunes and North African spices. Served with couscous and a pea shoot salad. Can see a glass or two of a nice chilled Reisling featuring as well.

    Aongus, Aongus, Aongus.

    It's 'rustle' up, not russell.

    How embarrassing for you.

    Vegetable chilli and wholegrain rice.

An earnest, bearded dinner if you will.

That's the kind of dinner only a devoted Birkinstock-wearer would have.

    Sort yourself out man.

Sounds like something you'd feed to the ducks at the local pond.

How are you finding dealing with negative interest rates in the market these days? Must be causing a bit of strain deciding on the appropriate valuation models.

Things have been easier I will admit. An investment I made last year on behalf of a client really hasn't worked out. The interest rate situation hasn't helped with the growth of the more conservatively invested portions of the portfolio we manage.

I'm on two weeks stress related work leave actually. Took it badly. Some comforting home-cooked food and a few glasses of wine will help though.

Get well soon. I wouldn't wish stress like that on my worst enemy. Whoever that is.

A... thing from McDonald's in a hell hole called katowice. People at the counter couldn't understand me so I just started saying yes and pointing at the cheap foods board.

Should have just ordered a big Mac, only want a place to sit for the next two hours.

I had a turkey "burger". Substituted the bun with 2 fresh, crisp iceberg lettuce leaves.

30gr of wholewheat pasta with a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce.

Two boiled baby potatoes, sliced lengthways for fancyness. Tossed in a bowl of melted butter, salt, pepper and thyme.

Side salad with grated beetroot, raw carrot strips, thinly sliced spring onion, grated cheddar cheese, wild rocket and a squeeze of a lime.

Had an omelette with rashers, mushrooms, shallots, yellow pepper, tomato, pesto and cheese. It was amazing if I do say so myself.

I really have to learn how to cook properly.

All that sounds so good, except the beetroot. Icky. :(
