Just came across this and priced the same on line. They retail between £400 -£700 depending where you buy. Ordered 1 king sized myself for €160. Seems like a great deal. https://m.facebook.com/mattress.liquidation.5

I'd probably go with a branded one from bigmickey.ie rather than chance a no name one over the internet.

Forget the one I got, but it clearly was a bargain and well worth it, still going strong after all these years * and different houses

Cheers, I couldn't see that on the page. not familiar with that brand google seems to suggest a few brands use that moniker.

    Hi Bigmickey,

We have a 5ft respa vogue matress that is about 11 years old and now the cover has ripped on it.

Would you have anything like that in stock as a replacement?

A shop suggested diamond respa 3000 pocket sprung as a replacement. I don't know if you do that brand/something similar?

    Thanks.

Hi framework123, We have superking (6ft) mattresses starting from €149 and range up to €4000. The most important factor in buying a mattress is to try it before purchase. We have over 20 on display in our shop and have 100's in our warehouse. Thanks Bigmickey

dont mean to hijack this bargain alert, but big mickey is a sound fella to deal with, we went up with a low budget, he had plenty to choose from, had a lovely bed and mattress for double our budget but when we tried it, it was like lying on a cloud, had to have it
great delivery service and even aftercare service to check we were happy 2 weeks after delivery

Looking for a price for a fairly good quality memory foam double mattress please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 122 ✭✭cs5

Well I can tell you that we have a 'Sealy' spring mattress and it is rubbish. I'd never ever buy a Sealy or Silent****e mattress ever again.

We paid 550 for our Sealy King size mattress (not bought through Big Mickey though) only 14 months ago and we're already looking at getting it replaced. We're now looking for a King Koil Club Class mattress after spending a few nights in a friends house on their King Koil we realised just how crap the Sealy really was.

The King Koil Club Class isn't easy to come by though unfortunately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

I got the matress from the the OP link king sized 190 delivered and find it fantastic. Definatley money well spent but sure time will tell.

Sorry to hear about your problem but delighted you did not get the mattress from us. Did you go back to the shop where you bought and talk to them about it ?

We would like to help. We have a high end mattress called Mayfair. We have been selling these for 18 months now and we generally call our customers after a couple of weeks or so to see how they are getting on and have been getting wonderful feedback. You have to see these to see what I mean. They are very high quality but not a high price for the quality that they are. Would you like to try one for a month with no risk to you if you don't like it ? PM us if interested.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 122 ✭✭cs5

Thanks for the offer. We'll try to drop up to check them out. :)

We bought the Sealy mattress from a company that know nothing about customer service but in fairness we bought it and had to put up with it.

Surprised with your issue with Sealy. We have a sealy for 10 years memory foam, on top of springs. It's edge to edge and is so so good and best purchase in my life. We tried so many and love this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 122 ✭✭cs5

Ours doesn't have the memory foam top. It's just a spring mattress and believe me you can feel every single spring. We genuinely thought that buying a 'Sealy' mattress meant we were buying a decent quality one but I can tell you - never again.

Correct , but all the big bed companies manufacture for all budgets so it all depends on the specification of the mattress. Sealy make quite expensive mattresses but also make cheaper ones.

Some great bargains on the site there BigMickey.

Need a new mattress soon... Memory foam seems to be the way to go... Had the old springs for a few too many years now.

    Mickey,

I have never had a memory foam mattress before, and was wondering are they all listed as a certain firmness rating, or can you get varying levels of firmness with memory foam.

I suffer from the odd bad back and prefer firm mattresses.

Once you get a memoryfoam mattress you won't go back, it'll make hotel stays a nightmare.

By the way, I couldn't recommend BigMickey highly enough, never sells a bad yoke and is fully transparent with all their charges, I don't think I'll ever buy furniture off anyone else again.

They will all vary from model to model and from manufacturer to manufacturer. There are some very high quality ones on the market right down to complete rubbish.

We always say to customers to try before you buy as that is the only way to buy a mattress for your own use. Take your time and don't be in a rush as you may be spending 1/3 of your life on it.

Seen this and just had to stick my twopence worth in....... I suffer with a very bad back and myself and the husband came across bigmickey on here just over 3 yrs ago. Took a drive to his shop in longford (from Dublin) and left with a silentnight memory foam mattress and honestly havnt looked back since! Definitely worth their weight in gold if you suffer with a dodgy back!

Wouldn't really recommend memory phone mattresses. I have one and it now smells like a pair of trainers!

Depends both on the manufacture and the person smelling it best bet is buy a memory foam pillow and see if it bothers you. The stink was why nasa abandoned it my wife can't smell it at all smells really strong to me .. caveat. I don't have normal sense of smell can smell VOCs, tyre rubber, cucumber and all sort of odd thing s in minute quantities. If its really bad then its likely the manufacture process left residual unbound urea in the foam. Can also be the flame retardants that stink.

Just to add I've been to bigmickey and certainly didn't smell any urea from the mattresses we looked at all quality stuff the only reason we didn't get a memory foam mattress was the wife likes her mattress for feel like the floor :(

In 8 years we have never had anyone complain about a smell of any memory mattress that we sold. I have seen quite a few people on boards complaining about smelly memory mattresses that they bought through Groupon. All memory mattresses are not the same. There are memory mattresses from €99 up to thousands like the Harrison brand.

It was a very pricy mattress at the time.

Can't comment on King Koil as we don't sell them. Did you raise the matter with the shop where you bought it ?

It happens from time to time. Your shop should replace it if it's not too long since you bought it. It will be returned to king koil.

Deliery is free when we have other deliveries near you but can send by next day courier (Fastway) for €9 which is subsidised by us.

We were only in Limerick and Cork a few days ago so if needed in a hurry then Fastway might be best.

    Thanks
