Macbook Options

    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on the best value way to get a Macbook?

I don't need a brand new one but would like from say at least 2011 on.

I'd like to record some music on it (not at a professional level but good demo level) and maybe do some photoshop work etc. Do I need Pro or Air or does it really matter?

Anyways, the apple refurb store is still quite expensive. Are there any good trustworthy outlets for used macbooks or is ebay/done deal the best option where it's a risk when buying.

Alternatively, is there any other brand of laptop that would be fantastic value to do the above new at a good price? I do have my heart set on a macbook though!

    Thank you!

Any laptop will do the above to be honest.

If you are recording music, you will need more than a laptop/Mac, you'll need a mic and some interface for the mic to plug it into a computer.

As for photoshop, this works just fine on a PC, so again no need to plump for a Mac. You will get a brand new machine that will do all the above and more for the price of a second hand Mac with less spec.

I am a Mac fan, but they are expensive, so you have to weight up what you're getting for you 1300+ with a new Mac vs a 700/800PC.

    Thanks both.

Think I'll save a bit and asses again in a few months. My 7 year old Vista laptop is still going ok so I may as well keep saving.

Finance through compuB is an absolute rip off!

You would be better getting out a bank or credit union loan
