Get it for the equipment and professional install, then flog the sky+hd box (or get a second hand HD viewing card) and put in a Freesat box after your 12 months, look at the year's viewing as a bonus.

Did that a few years ago, haven't looked back

Did that a few years ago with that in mind and then had kids who like cartoons.:D

Cancelled last year and moved to eircom but their TV is cr@p. Sky then offered me 6 months free and 3 months with 75% off.
I'm now back with eircom for another few months of contract at €10 pm but I'll bite the bullet at this stage to have decent tv.
Ended up getting the groupon deal and will cancel movies as soon as my box is live. 31 days notice needed.

About €25 once-off payment. No Irish channels. You'll have to get Saorview for those.

Some apartment blocks have a satellite on the roof, in that event you dont need your own dish and would be connected to the communal one. Sky themselves can tell you if you can get connected

I was referring to the Freesat from Sky cards.

Whats the difference between the 4 euro and 25 euro cards?

We had the variety bundle at home and the most watched kids channel was cbeebies, documentaries weren't really watched and music is streamed over YouTube

As for HD the most watched is UTV Ireland (corrie lol) bit closely followed by BBC but this works out cheaper than the original bundle on its own so a good deal I'd say
