My old favourite Maarek 8/1 runs in the 4.30 Longchamp tomorrow and looks way too big a price for me. Ran a good reappearance in a listed race and he'll have come on an awful lot for the run.

Got a tip for the Last race @ punchestown today.

Got 2 tips of this yard before. A 50/1 and 20/1 winner.

    Sweet Company @ 50/1

Have a few quid each way
    Apologies on this one.

Was bang in there on the turn for home but faded late on.
Friend at the track said the jockey got straight off the horse at the end. So thatd suggest the horse got some sort of injury.

Runs again tomorrow Sunday at Killarney, might be worth a look at 25/1

Longchamp undoubtedly the class racing of Sunday. I like Flaming Spear at 33/1 in the 2:08. This one blew up on the concrete of Newbury the other week, but today sees it out over much softer ground at Longchamp. Would not be reading anything into that run and am not at all surprised to see this one out so soon over more favourable ground.

I had to blink twice. Finians Rainbow runs tomorrow in Killarney in the " Lawnmower "Chase. Good to see him back but you gotta wonder what's the point at age 12?

    Leopardstown 3.10
    Off Limits @ 12/1 e/w

Solid bet, great chance and good run expected.

Picked up a small knock @ Punchestown but is alright now.

It's form reads P-0 but got injured on both runs.

    I'll have a tenner e/w @ 25/1

Looking forward to a really good card at Longchamp tomorrow, in particular Mecca's Angel who looked a top class sprinter in the making last season. She's a best price of 11/2 at the moment but I'd imagine that a better price will be possible on the PMU and I may have a small interest nearer the off.

Highland Reel looks to be a stupidly short price for the French 2000 Guineas and I quite like Pascal Bary's Tale Of Life who should improve greatly on a slightly disappointing seasonal debut when turned over at odds on, potential dangers are plentiful and I really don't watch enough French racing to take a firm view on the race so will probably sit this one out.

Also, interesting that Martyn Meade sends Irish Rookie over for the 1000 Guineas and I know that she was quietly fancied for the English equivalent last week before running only moderately, again there are a lot of unfamiliar form lines and a watching brief looks the way to go.

American Hope can be classified as a cliff horse. Maarek can stand alone I think in that regard.

    Maarek is whopper

If you think Aidan sends a horse undercooked to a gr.1 you're dreaming. Thought Highland Reel would be his best miler this year but was seriously disappointed that he sent him to France, they don't send their best horses there think of the ones that have gone to Longvhamp over the years. Aussie Rules, Excellent Art etc none of them are top top class. That said I thought the horse would prefer better ground those Australian breds tend to

Massive run from Irish Rookie there, splitting two very good fillies.

Interesting to see where she goes from here.

Money for him was relentless too. Has to be judged as a proper flop unless something comes to light

Not always the case. Plenty of recent examples of horses floping only to win a group 1 on next start. Roderic O Connor, Power, Misty for Me etc. Granted they weren't anywhere near as strong in the market as Highland Reel was today but the market doesn't always paint an objective picture. I wouldn't be giving up on any of Aidan's until they have had their second start.
That said I take your point about Ballydoyle not sending their leading lights there, he could well be an ordinary sort by Ballydoyle standards.

Maarek absolutely flew home to get 4th. Think he got squeezed up at the start which wouldn't have helped. Plenty of promise again and signs are good for the rest of the season.

Monster performance from Mecca's Angel there giving weight away to some established G1 performers.

All Irish Guineas winners and not very strong Guineas at that. Roderic's especially

Seamie did everything he could to try and get the favourite to win, but no matter how hard(????) he tried he couldn't stop his horse getting up on the line

Declaration of War also, backed off the boards for Lockinge, well beaten, wins Queen Anne next start.

Plenty like that at Ballydoyle over the years

Unfortunately having placed the bet at the PMU price, Boyles have seen fit to settle my bet as a loser now

Not often a horse gets nudged out to win! In fairness he was probably told to go very easy on the horse and just found himself cruising up behind the leader, dosnt explain why he didn't push him out towards the finish though when clearly on top. Could have got himself in some hot water if he hadnt won it.

Stop that. He tried everything to get the horse beat. FACT!

Shouldnt something be done regardless of the fact that he got up and won. Its clear as day to everyone that he wasnt trying to win it or is it the fact that he did win mean there is no case against him ?

If he didn't win nothing would have been done anyway, the excuse of teaching a big raw horse would have sufficed. Rancid.

Dont see anything wrong with hefs ride there, he knew he had it half furlong in. no need to hammer the ****e out of the horse. He will give job a bit of sticking necking him on the line to perfection

Disgraceful stuff from Heffernan and the yard. JOB had no problem hitting the fav 5 times while Seamie was riding the winner like there was 4f to go so don't think the 'educating a big, green, raw horse etc' excuse holds. The picture of Heffernan after made in worthwhile though. Sour was not the word! :-)

Watch Found's maiden win over Together Forever, exact same thing, he didn't want to win!
There was a Group race where Kingbarns (I think) was a short priced fav and Seamie did his best to lose it on an unfancied stablemate but had to win it.

Sorry the last race. Bondi Beach. I backed it at 8s as I always back O Briens 2nd strings. I dont think I have ever seen a jockey trying to get a horse beat as much as that. I dont think anybody that enjoys the game can defend that ride.
