That's awesome man, it's great to have a big collection like that. What's you favourite? Do you think we should open a thread to discuss old wrestling games?

Since we're on the topic of old wrestling games, does anyone know where I'd find a good price for Day of Reckoning and the sequel too? Had a GameCube but somehow missed out on playing them.

Yea, that'd be a good idea with the games thread. I used to play Wrestling games non-stop when I was younger. I don't get time to play much in recent years so dont spend a massive amount of time with the newer games.

Definitely No Mercy was my favourite, as with a lot of people. Still play that regularly to this day

The Nintendo games always had great features not present in any other platforms, sometimes just small gameplay elements that made a big difference.
Stuff like the collision / physics system in the Day of Reckoning series or the Third Person roaming camera mode that you could unlock in Wrestlemania XIX for gamecube..

Here Comes the Pain for PS2 was great craic

Could we get a full Hart Foundation?

That'd be fantastic. Owen had a huge part in Austin's career early on (even before the neck break), so I'd love to see it

You know, as long as all the create modes are returned and career mode is improved that's all it would take to make 2K16 good.

I'd like to see a new kick out system. I've always hated the randomness of the "hold the button, release at the right time" system. Much prefer the franticness of button mashing to kick out.

My idea would be to keep the timing system, but have a separate bar for each count. 1 is the hardest kick out, then 2 makes it a bit easier, then 3 is the easiest. To add to it, if you don't try and kick out at 1 and 2, it makes 3 even easier again. You'd get a lot more near-falls in matches this way and it would add to the drama.

That's an absolutely brilliant idea! And so simple too. This kind of system would introduce immediate drama to matches

Should be a similar thing for crawling to the ropes during submissions; like tap at different stages to crawl a certain distance. obviously the closer to the ropes the easier to escape. The current submission system is ridiculous. If you're beat down too heavily in a specific body area, it's absolutely impossible to not submit to a finisher submission.

So did I but I was good at that. :P

Can't remember which year it was but CM Punk and Jericho were ridiculously resilient to pin falls. Nice getting sent messages every once in a while being accused of using a turbo controller.

This series of games have gone so stale that no matter what they add to it the only way I think I could ever get excited about a WWE 2K game is if it came with a free WrestleMania Ticket.

They purposely limit the game so next year they can add to it. So every year will be missing something and lately it seems for everything they add to the game they take some other feature away.

Having looked at the gameplay video, it seems the kickout system has been overhauled (like your suggestion martyos121)

Also, submissions seem to be done like EA's UFC (Chase the icon), and the new screens on the ring apron are present.

Balor's entrance is done perfectly - timing on the lights coming up in time with the music is pretty much spot on

The models seem alright but it looks like they've taken the shine off them. The bars for each wrestler in the bottom corner look like it could be made by anybody. Liking the new pin and submission systems. I wonder if Create a Show is the same as Create a PPV from Smackdown vs Raw?

They need to use better camera angles to make it more dramatic though. Gets pretty boring looking after a while. Doesn't do that thing where he crouches in the corner of the ring barrier either. Would be great if they animated the crowd to do his taunt when the lights come up. Model and motion capture is great though..
wouldn't be surprised if they re-jigged it before release
