Not bothering to write a full match thread.

This is a must win for both teams really. Ulster realistically need 2 wins from 2 for a home semi, but it's Munster at home and Glasgow away which is a big ask.

Munster have a home banker next week so a win today would pretty much give them the home semi.

    Prediction:

    Ulster by a score.

I fancy Ulster here, and to go on and win the competition out.

In before the cry of "tables"!
Too close to call imo, but Ulster's unbeaten home record is daunting

Looking forward to a good game. Sitting here on the couch wearing my brand new Munster hoody and trackie pants. Not overly confident of a victory from the men of the south-west, but hopeful.

I'm calling Munster for this one.

Hanrahan looks awfully pissed off to be on the bench judging by his Sky avatar there when they were showing the team line-ups.

The wife has allowed me in from the garden and has handed me a beer. Looking forward to this, best home team versus the best away team. Normally for inter pros I'd hope for 5 points for Ulster and 2 for Munster. But it's just too tight at the top now so I'm hoping for Ulster by >7. Good opportunity for nelson today with the RWC and Allen leaving.

    Cheers (opens can).

    O'Donnell off?

  • Administrators Posts: 54,891 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Hard for PJ to roll away if Murray is in the way.

    Good start from Munster.

Only a few minutes in and Jackson showing his class as a 10.

God I love watching Jacksons passing of the ball.

    Great game so far.

    Payne making great ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Good game so far, Hurley and Payne are both running some good lines.

    Jackson is delish.

Anyone else think Keatley should have been penalised there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Good attacking play from Ulster, but Munster holding them out so far.

    Good game.

Munster setting their stall out for a smash and grab win. If they can hold Ulster scoreless for the opening 20 minutes, they'll get impatient.

    Munster being extremely disciplined.

Bowe was miles ahead of where he should have been. Beautiful play to create the gap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,625 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

Ulster need to turn this great play into points.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,891 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Thank feck for that.

Some save from Henderson there - I was sure Earls was in.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,668 ✭✭✭Mahatma Geansai

    Did Henderson impede Earls?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Great effort by Earls and incredible work from Henderson. Slightly softer touch and that was a 7 pointer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,625 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

Joe scmidt will love what Henderson managed there.

Some seriously tasty rugby being attempted, just some cuter execution needed by Ulster

    Did Henderson impede Earls?

No. Was very little contact at all and anything there was, was incidental.

    Henry a mile offside there.

    What happened to Tommy O'Donnell?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    Cracking stuff.
Great defence earlier by Henderson to stop Earls scoring.

Great kicks from Zebo and Keatley to keep the pressure up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ulster backs are so imaginative.....great skill and pace. Big contrast with what we saw in the RDS last night.

    Munster defending very well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,818 ✭✭✭Lyaiera

This game is superb. Ulster are really dazzling. Munster are playing smart and really trusting in their systems.

Tuohy, Payne and Jackson stand outs so far. Henry playing himself into form again, good to see him back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

The lineout before Earls kick and chase was horribly crooked and right in front of Owens.

The Munster drift defence has been good so far.

Obvious offside by ulster on kick at start of that move

Don't know why Nigel didn't ping Hurley for not rolling away, pretty much the same as what he pinged Jackson for earlier.

The ball was presented clearly and he wasn't in the way.

Another very strong scrum from Munster. Munster and Archer have had the upper hand against the best scrum in the league so far.

Except Paddy Jackson slowed down Murray.

Felix Jones is playing really well.

Felix Jones is playing really well.

Jackson tried to roll away and Murray stopped him doing so. On that occassion Hurley didn't even try and move and slowed it.

Ulster chipping away at the Munster line, but Munster defending very well. Great match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Munster's scramble defence earning their money today.

Giving Ulster's backs too much space for my liking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,536 ✭✭✭case885

We really need players to step up at the breakdown, its pretty much no contest

  • Administrators Posts: 54,891 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

We need to make our advantage count here. Picking plenty of holes but it's just not coming off at the very end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    **** Zebo gone.

    Temporary?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ah Zebo off - now that's a bummer.
