It is interesting to see alot of personal trainers are using Youtube channels to document their life and promote themselves. Is it something we are going to see a lot more of in the future and does anyone pay them attention?

    Marketers ruin everything.

The best guys have been doing it for years. The main stream is only catching on now.

It'll get busier, more diluted and eventually people will stop paying attention.

Just like banner ads, just like email, and eventually just like facebook.

good content is king, IMO there is very little substance to many of the vids ive seen and find myself reading more articles than just watching vids (vids for cool lifts or something thats short)

Any of the well known youtubers have either charisma, great knowledge or operate in a niche market.

The biggest ones like the Hodgetwins play more on their personalities than content, but there are some big channels which have great content, like Candito Training, and now that Omar Isuf has started weightlifting, he's going to bring something new, particularly as his viewers are mainly from bodybuilding and powerlifting backgrounds, so he could start a new trend.

It's good to get a mix between them, but the market is over saturated with channels and it's pretty much impossible for a youtuber starting today to make it big. This isn't restricted to fitness channels though; the gaming market is also completely over saturated.

The marketing is intense, and companies like Gymshark did well to hop on the bandwagon, but it's dying down now as most of the youtubers themselves are releasing their own brands, rather than advertising for others.
