Some guy on Bloomberg yesterday saying the the "fix" in the US will seriously de-power their Turbo diesel engines plus significantly reduce MPG. Nervous times for "Volks" this side of the pond!!

I don't think it'll affect this side of the pond at all to be honest, the problem in the us is mainly in Cali and somewhere else where their rediculously hard on emissions, I think it's more a case that they were supposed to be tuned cleaner specifically for them but volks were putting in a coding that only worked to limit emissions under test conditions.

Maybe - but some of the US readings were 40 times over the limit for the likes of NOx. Plus the testing regime in the EU may be looked at again since it apparently involves car companies selecting their own concept models for testing and not random tests on market models by an outside agency according to an expert on the same programme.

3 months to christmas day:D A friend of ours came home from work the other day, went into the house to have his tea and a neighbour rang him to say his van was on fire, burnt out and he reckons about 8k of tools in it. Tools will not be covered by insurance .

With 8k worth of tools going around you would think he would have made sure they were covered on his policy

I presume that you can appeal it since you never received a summons?

They can't just send a summons though. It has to be handed to the person if I'm not mistaken?
