I was guessing relative/friend myself. Didn't someone who knew her post on the other thread that was going about this?

Bottom line is she and the other one (whose name escapes me but I'm sure there'll be a book and tacky tabloid "news" that you can't get away from to remind me) are grown adults who - like so many other spoiled entitled types - thought they were "special" and tried to pull a scam (and international drug trafficking isn't exactly something you innocently fall into), got caught, and then came up with a whole story that she later admitted was false.

They should serve their time in the country where they committed the crime according to their laws. It shouldn't be up to the (NI/UK) taxpayer to foot the bill for it.

Get a life, you're all like the old women peeking out from behind the curtain nosying in to other peoples business and then having a good gossip about it. Telling everyone how terrible the youngters are behaving. :D

She's been in prison long enough to learn her lesson. Let her return home.

And someone on the internet with their finger stuck on the smiley button is the person to tell the Peruvians exactly how long they are allowed imprison people who break their laws in their country?

No, I'm just delighted that it looks certain that she'll be returning to Ireland soon. It's really good news for most decent people. Those who wanted to see her suffer and raped in jail over there may not be happy but there's nothing you can do about people like that.

They are poor innocent victims who have learned their lesson and should be released immediately!

Wait, what do you mean they aren't fit young girls?

Normal life? Apart from drug dealers who's going to hire someone convicted of serious drug smuggling and not fond of the truth?

What? Which other 'drug mules' have I shown sympathy for? She's a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. She's learned her leason. Back to a comfy jail in Ireland and then freedom soon enough hopefully.

let's also give her 100k of tax payer money to get her started .. poor girl.

My favourite bit of the whole story was the pic of two kids who dressed up as them for Halloween. One of them even had the scowl on the Scottish one down to a t.

They are people caught smuggling drugs into Ireland, Why don't you care about them? Why are you not campaigning to have them sent back to their countries?

What ones in Indonesia? I haven't a clue what you're talking about.

She's just waiting for the Peruvians to sign off and then she's coming home. It shouldn't be long. Great news for everyone except nasty people who want her to suffer despite knowing nothing about her.

Heaven forbid someone who breaks the law be punished.

If you insist of talking rubbish, at least do us all a favour and learn to use the multi quote tool to concentrate the nonsense in 1 place

It's really good news for her family and friends certainly. Like I said I feel sympathy but I see no reason to consider hers a special case.

Just out of interest why do you want to see this one person treated differently to everyone else caught smuggling large quantities of hard drugs?

Maybe if I knew of their cases I would. What has that got to do with a young Irish girl who made a mistake?

Where have I given my opinion on anyone else who has spent time in prison even?

One can only hope they have dropped the pathetic routine "we was duped" routine, hopefully they have managed to feel remorse and realise how vacuous their motives for the crime were.

I was glad they got caught, drug smuggling is a huge issue in Latin America and the last thing people need there is two brainless cretins thinking they can make a quick buck to continue their empty "pretend-model" lifestyle.

A good dose of reality was surely required and has hopefully been administered.

So what do you want? If not special treatment then an amnesty for everyone convicted of smuggling drugs?

I know she is a convicted drug smuggler, That's enough for me to want her to stay and finish her sentence.

It's not really enough for you though is it? You're a bit of a sadist and want people to suffer. That much is fairly clear. You'd much prefer that they be held in barbaric, rat and disease infested conditions and be subjected to routine torture and violence than be incarcerated in more humane surroundings. If they were jailed in a clean cell with a bed and 3 meals a day you'd be beside yourself with rage exxagerating that they are living in palatial luxury. You'd make the mandatory reference to taxpayer expenditure too. If they were kept in abhorrent conditions you'd be thrilled and would sneer and call anyone who voiced opposition to their treatment a bleeding heart.

They got a longer holiday than they expected.
