I'm in my 40s, married with 2 children... Never had Health Insurance to date...

    My queries:
    1. Haven't the price of a big policy in the budget at the moment. Should I buy one of the low level health insurance policies just to get a 'foot in the door'?
    2. What is the best low level policy?
    3. Can you upgrade the policy in a few months if you have a policy by the end of the month?
    4. Is health insurance essential? Any disadvantages apart from the annual price of the policy?
