Big London derby, Wengers 13th time facing Mourinho in the league, hes lost 7 and drawn 5, will it be lucky 13 for Wenger and Arsenal and get rid of another monkey off their back?

    Possible line up

    e2b56c5a-081b-455e-87a0-eccb3d220dc7-655x720.png

Chelsea will be likely to go with Drogba over Costa or Remy who are both injured and recovering from knocks.

Mertesacker is a doubt for Arsenal, while Arteta and Ox-C. are both out.

Ref on sunday is Micheal Oliver.

Arsenal win puts them within 7 pts of Chelsea with 5 games to go. Chelsea win and its 1 game from the title.

Chelsea last beat Arsenal at the Emirates in September 2012. Last time Arsenal beat Chelsea at the Emirates was back in December 2010.

Chelsea have lost only 3 games all year but I reckon on sunday Arsenal will make that 4, Arsenal are in fine form at the moment and have been for a few months, theyre scoring plenty of goals and Ospina is doing a good job between the sticks.

While I think we'll lose Sunday, I dont think it will effect the title race other than drag it out a bit longer.

    Arsenal 3 - 1 Chelsea.

    Zouma up top?

Do we even have 7 defenders?

I could see 5 playing but 7? Jaysus thats even a stretch for Jose :o

Chelsea will win this or it will be a draw Jose will take either and for that reason I can't see an arsenal win.

Chelsea to sneak win with Fabregas goal from a deliberate handball in an offside position. Please.

Would they have not have been better off parking it across the goals. Loads of room at the back post there.

Don't like the idea of Drogba up front, he's been a shadow this year and his record against arsenal is best preserved in history

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

With the form Arsenal are in Chelsea will be lucky to hold out for a draw. Fancy comfortable 2-0 for Arsenal here.

Yep, it's not world peace we are dealing with, or a cure for Ebola. I dare say if it unravels for Fabregas and Chelsea there might be the odd few childish/humourous posts about that.

Not winding it up, but it's not really that big.

End of season fayre, prob a draw

Yes but you said the bookies love me even though they also make arsenal favourites. You will get a little over evens if you fancy chelsea but i think they were very lucky to beat Utd and fancy arsenal at home.

Chelsea to defend the whole game and try to nick a goal

    Will be the typical excitement

Exactly. The league is won and biggest game left for Arsenal is at end of May.

ETA. Sorry as this is match thread I predict nil all and neither side overly unhappy

Chelsea to get the result they want

Mourinho is in fine form, an open game and Arsenal could easily beat them looking at their form but it will be far from open

Cesc with the winner, kisses the badge, internet explodes

Wouldn't be expecting this worth watching. Could just stick Fabregas "striker" and Zouma - Matic shield. Mourinho would take 0 - 0.

Thinks it'll be a terrible game
    Cesc at false 9
    Zouma CM
Jose to play for a 0-0
    Profit??

    Exactly it wasnt that hard?

Gav is Drogba not injured? He pulled out of some event during week and tweeted about injury? Is there any strikers left?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,342 ✭✭✭Bobby Baccala

Can't see it being a draw, both Hazard and Sanchez will be right up for this one, hopefully wenger can pull something out of the bag, we're well overdue a win over Mourinho. This game is bigger to me than any north London derby

End to end game full of excitement, 2-1 to somebody, crystal ball won't tell me who. Internet to explode when Jose doesn't park the bus

There all iffy but theyre all able to play, if needed but they'll be big, big risks if theyre played, thats if what jose said was true.

Drogba was injured against Utd and pulled out of his own charity match on Monday. Costa injured against Stoke, will probably play next weekend. Remy injured 2 weeks ago before the QPR game but it was in training, dont know why hes still out TBH.

Dominic Solanke was pulled from the U21 game against Everton to make sure he was ok to be on the bench today.

Jose said it'll be either Drogba/Costa today or Drogba/solanke, I suspect it will be Drogba starting and solanke on the bench.

We'll play for a 0-0 in which all the Arsenal fans and so called purists will incessantly whine about once again, before hitting them on the break at some point and scoring to win 1-0 is how it'll pan out hopefully. It'd be awesome if Fabregas scored and celebrated, that would just add to it. Wouldn't mind seeing Hazard lead the line today, read he's done that for Belgium a few times over the last year or two.

Maybe it'll be Arsenal's year, and they can grab a point against big, bad Chelsea though. As good a time as any I suppose.

I'm sure even the Chelsea fans paying big bucks to watch the match live would prefer a free-flowing game of football.

Always prefer the points. It's the same every week and it doesn't change no matter how many people say they're sure what we'd prefer.

You might be sure but you're still wrong.

You don't know me, I'm never wrong :pac:

I wasn't saying points or free-flowing football. You can have both, and if I was paying big money to watch live, that's what I'd want.

Of course, if parking the bus is required for points, then I'm sure they would prefer that.

No striker for Chelsea, Hazard as the false no 9.

If there's no one fit for us I'd have rather seen solanke get a go. Haz/fab get the nod due to experience anyway...

No pressure on us eeally would have loved to seen solanke play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

For the sake of this game being half watchable I hope Arsenal score in the first minute
