What is the water hardness in Lower Rathmines Area, I need to set my dishwasher?

Hi,
I just moved to Lower Rathmines road and bought a dishwasher. What is the hardness level of the water over here? I need to set my dishwasher hardness setting accordingly. Thanks in advance.

Water in Dublin City is rated as soft. The exceptions are some areas along the northside of the City, which are fed from Leixlip Water Treatment Plant.

I would say it is the nearest thing to "Nil"! It has not left any marks on our kettle so I think it is very little .Dont waste your few earned schillings on any water softener.

dunno about hardness, not really an issue in Dublin.

But get a bottle of Rinse Aid in any supermarket. You usually pour it into compartment in door, separate to powder compartment. The Rinse Aid prevents greasy streaks on dishes etc apparently.
