McBrine slogged his wicket away to a joke bowler after a good 40, 145-8

To be even competitive with England they'd need 280-300 and that probably wouldn't be enough..

get to 175 and make some sort of match of it.

In the warm up match on Sunday England chased 295 in 35 overs, might need a few more, was hoping they would put up 260+

They're struggling to even make that. Campher has played well.

Might if it was a T20

172 and made David Willey look like Wasim Akram, the new man did well, Campher 59*, never heard of him till yesterday, under 19 South Africa International

He did well given the situation when he came in. You'd imagine Bairstow, Roy, Morgan etc will make light work of it, maybe they'll have an off day!

The Irish batting has been consistently poor for quite a while..

Bowlers doing their best here to bail out the batters...

they have batting the whole way down unfortunately.

2 quick wickets and who knows?

    118/4

Yeah but as you say they bat long...

This is a doddle now, 16 off 144 balls required! 157/4.

Six wicket victory...a walk in the park. Easier said than done I know but Ireland need to post bigger scores...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,806 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

All over, lost by 6 wickets, the top order contributed nothing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,080 ✭✭✭MFPM

    133 balls to spare too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,080 ✭✭✭MFPM

Ireland 17/2 after 7 overs...not a good start. Stirling goes cheaply again, he is maddeningly inconsistent for a player of his talent.

James Vince bowling....just taking the proverbial now.

    Absolutely!:D

Loads of starts but no one has made a decent score yet.

Campher showing some fight here, following his performance in the 1st match...good support by Singh too.

Babar Azam can play a bit, and Shan Masood, the Pakistani foreigner who was born in Kuwait, durable as ever, solid technique. 121-2 and shockingly raining in Manchester

Babar looks the real deal...good day for Pakistan.

Baber Azam has been the real deal for a few years now. World class batsman.

Azhar Ali rewarded for being brave at the toss and batting first with it being cloudy and overcast. In a great position after day 1 with a good forecast, drying pitch and two spinners.

To a point, he can struggle against the short ball - certainly did the last tour in England, even today when England tried it. He's looking good though.

Couple of quick early wickets change the complexion of this game, it's overcast and the ball is swinging, 2 wickets and runs have also dried up. If England can get a couple more they'll be in a good position in this match.

All of a sudden England are looking not very threatening. A good number of deliveries offering width and an opportunity to score. Broad looking leggy, Wokes a bit more threatening, let’s see now with Jimmy can they be more of a threat.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,080 ✭✭✭MFPM

Mirror of yesterday, England bowled well in the morning but poorly in the afternoon. Great performance by Masood...If they can get anywhere near 350 with the pitch turning it could be tough for the English batters.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,734 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Aye Pakistan well on the way to respectability here, will put pressure on the collapse prone English batting!

    Edit: Commentators curse, Shadab goes!

Fuçk, put down by Buttler, not a difficult chance, a small deflection just went hard into the hands and onto the deck.
