QUESTION: Who was crowned King of England in Dublin?

Lambert Simnel, but it didn't count.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,636 ✭✭✭feargale

    Lambert Simnel,

    Correct.
    but it didn't count.

But at least he survived to tell the tale, living out his life as a retainer at the court of King Henry VII, unlike Perkin Warbeck, the next one to try the same stunt. At that stage King H was probably thinking that if he didn't put a stop to this Paddy from Connemara would be the next to claim he was king.

That's one film (of many) that I have never seen. I am not a film fan generally. My daughter however has been known to identify a film from the next room based on a single word or, on one occasion, a sneeze!

I can only spell it as I heard a grandfather say it, as he had one, Steveen, steeveen... I suppose there could be a clue in there somewhere...

It could be an Irish word too I'd imagine

It's a glorified stick for planting spuds. Useless things. A spade does it in half the time.

    Edit spelled steeveen
