I wonder did the Mozilla Foundation, in turn, ask Ford's permission when naming their email service?

There was also that sci-fi TV series. Remember "Thunderbirds are Go"?

That would be the Hammer Studios. I miss Peter Cushing (and Chris Lee of course).

Any confirmation of the answers to the earlier questions?

On the assumption I was right with the Hammer answer...

What is a 'whitrit'. I heard this for the first time in a thread over in AH and I went searching for it. It's the Shetland local name for something common enough though little seen.

Or Whitrat, is a Weasel. We have weasel family members in Ireland but no Weasels. Hence the term never found it's way here. I have seen hundreds of then in GB.

I found it used in relation to stoats of which we have our very own version, (however stoats and weasels are oft mixed up by us fairweather naturalists) I pass the batton over to your goodself.

A weasel is weaselly recognised but a stoat is stoately different.

I'll post a question later today.

We use one playing Backgammon, a die to double the bet/points but maybe you have something else in mind.

There are no weasels in Ireland, only stoats which, to confuse the old enemy, are called weasels in Hiberno-English .

Thats exactly what I had in mind. It's backgammons version of "Going all in" as they do when playing poker.
