Jim Bowen is not the correct answer. He presented it. Another comedian devised it.

Oops. Well that question is still open so!

That's what I thought. I assumed steve said I was correct that Jim Bowen didn't create it. I knew he presented it alright.

    Out of misery time.

It was Norman 'Roses grow on you' Vaughan.

It was asked here last November. You old codgers are really showing signs of age.

    Multi Question.

What is the answer to each and what links the answers?

    1. What was destroyed by fire in Hong Kong harbour in 1972?

    2. In the 70s, which beer was said to 'work wonders'?

    3. Whose daughters were Regan, Goneril and Cordelia?

    Pardon?

    You talkin' to me?

    I was guessing. :D

I was thinking Cordelia and The Tempest, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was not the correct answer. I doubt you'd be surprised, too.

Edit - except for the fact that Prospero's daughter was Miranda, not Cordelia... well they had some vowels and the R in common... so.... 7/10 for effort? :o:pac:

    3. Whose daughters were Regan, Goneril and Cordelia?

Correct. Bonus point if you tell why a cob is so called?

Nature and zoology are my specialised subject.

From cobswan or Lead Swan. Cob is an old word for leader.

    Question when you are ready.

Incidentally, I thought it was known as a cob due the knob on its beak...
