    Does anyone else remember this?

Just saw a picture on facebook of the aertel homescreen and it brought me straight back.
It was like my first foray into social networking, teens would write letters in and they would be published weekly, people had screen names... I even think a couple of people met through it and were dating. Distinctly remember reading it every Tuesday/ Thursday night while waiting for Boston Public to come on.

    Am I alone?

Is this the golden age "when kids could be kids" that I've been hearing about since I was a child? Sounds sh1te.

And 150 for having to check everyones lotto tickets when I was about 8. Sometimes I just put scratches through the whole lot of them - most boring job ever

Really handy for listings and sports results.
Now you have to search several different websites for information that used to be in one place.

Do you remember the name of it? I'd swear it was something cheesy ending in "chat" or "talk". Teentalk or something

No. It's essentially the RTE website...

I remember page 180 for What's On Now.

And I think it was 182 for a list of movies on today and 183 for a description of them

220 for the soccer news and 200 for sport news. Many a transfer deadline day spent refreshing 220. Crazy times.

Bamboozle on Channel 4 with Bamber, Babette, Buster & Bonnie Boozler was a good one, a daily quiz show & on Saturdays they'd do a junior version. Can't recall the page no. as it switched around a few times.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there some form of typographical XXX content on C4 late at night? Or maybe some crude pics of chicks?

There was a "sex" section on ITV/C4 teletext in early 1993. Dirty stories and sex problem pages etc. It didn't last long though, maybe a couple of months. It was called After Hours and was only available after 11 pm.

I think I was just going into 1st year so it was about 13/14 years ago... Crazy how it just popped into my head tonight. I remember writing a few awkward teenage letters but being so cringed out by them I just threw them in the bin rather than post them :o

I remember Gossi the dog, the Man and the Man's Daddy! That was some surreal stuff.
