There aren't many games left but it is sometimes useful to look at the odds to help decide who starts and who's on the bench (or who to bring in).
I'm starting a thread in the hope that it will get updated by anyone with a bit of spare time.

Sorry, not sure why he's not there. He's 5/2

Paddy Power and their terrible odds
Kane is 2.10 to score with bwin

Surprised Benteke isn't on that list. 6 goals in his last 5 matches playing against a Spurs defence that's only kept two clean sheets since January.

    Good idea for a thread.

If it were possible to play every gameweek based on bookmakers odds (i.e, start every defender ranked at the top of the clean sheet list, start every striker listed at the top of the anytime goalscorer charts) you wouldn't be too far off a great ranking I'd imagine.

Only critique I would make is it's probably better to use Oddschecker to list the best price. :)

Further to the feedback thread which we never heard of again putting the odds like this into a general Gameweeek buildup thread would be a good idea rather than another thread.

We could just use this thread for the odds every week

You'd probably have an average enough ranking tbh. The likes of Berahino, Austin, Benteke would probably never have come into play, and it'd have taken quite a while for the likes of Southampton defenders and Kane to do so.

And the way this season has gone the striker most likely to score that a lot of us captain has nearly always blanked.

From what ive noticed, the price brackets typically depend on the team the player plays for rather than form and the other things we take into account when picking a team

Would be confident enough that anyone in the top 1-2% would be well able to beat the bookie if it weren't for the hefty margins.

The only thing that odds are much good for is picking defenders, clean sheet odds are more about the team and opposition form. For who is likely to score or assist is more about the individual form and the odds more reflect the team and the players position as you said.

Even then, I don't find there's any in depth analysis to it, until stats are glaringly obvious ie. Southampton now.

This died a death but was a good thread I thought. Anyone have odds for this week? I've to pick 3 defenders from Skrtel, Terry, Schlupp, Alder and Duff and also a goalkeeper from Ospina/Schmeichel.

At the minute I'm thinking of going Ospina, Skrtel, Terry, Schlupp but would be interested in seeing the odds.

Especially with Alder possibly playing in midfield with Schneidlin out presumably he won't be pushing forward much but you would think it would increase his chances of getting into goal scoring positions.

Yeh if it wasn't for the DGW in 37 be a lot easier to take an RVP shaped punt for a while! Was a little surprised Aguero was so short he's as short as 8/11 with Betfred and PP! PP are super scabby on City Ladbrokes are Evens on Aguero and 6/4 on Bony while PP are 8/11 on Aguero and Evens on Bony!!

Yea in order it's Aguero Hazard Giroud Sanchez Benteke Kane

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,099 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

7/1 for a QPR CS is one of the craziest prices I've seen in a while.

I'd gladly see them concede (a bucket full) but I can't see how they priced that.

Your stake is always the figure on the right of the /
Your return is on the left of the /

Example 6/4, put down 4 to win 6+ your stake.

4/6, put down 6 to win 4+ your stake.

Divide figure on left of / by figure on right to bring to decimal odds, might be easier to interpret.
