Hey folks, I see Smyth’s are doing a mid night release! Do you know if you need to pre order it or can you buy it straight from them without it? Thanks :)

I think it is just for pre orders as they will be matching you with barcodes that people who pre order will be sent at some stage today, i am still in two minds go get it at midnight or wait for 1st thing Friday morning

Slant who seems to have given the most mediocre review so far seems to be just moaning about the controls system which he supposedly never liked in any Rockstar game and the fact that you have to look after your horses, guns and clothes depending on temperature all mechanics which I cant see grating on me to much and by the end just complaining about the politics of the game by which point I just zooned out.

And Forbes didn't give it a perfect score but there gripes seemed more justified complaining about some story elements.

This was interesting. Not a normal review.

Good briefing on reviewer's experience of the game.
Its not GTA5 with horses but a life simulator is his view.

Look after yourself, the camp, your horse & then the missions & quests that follow this.

Halfway through a replay of The Witcher 3 at the moment and I'm not sure whether to play it like crazy for the next few days and finish it, or abandon it for this!!!

Same dilemma except its my first play through of the Witcher and I am loving it. Think I'll buy RDR tomorrow but decide what to play whenever.

Polygon docking points because he couldn't console a grieving woman in a side quest.

    Clowns.

**** sake. They also gave out about the Witcher 3 for similar reasons if memory serves.

I wouldn't give that any heed to be honest, most people will be enjoying the game too much to even notice or care about a minor drop in FPS.

The review from Easy Allies is excellent. Breath of the Wild is my favourite open world and I saw some similarities in their review.

A more slow and methodical approach seems key as is simply enjoying the world and the happenings around you.

All the time on PC with cdkeys. No problems whatsoever. Not bought anything for console off them though.

Your local supervalu might have it tomorrow for 50.

Your not covered by your payment merchant if you don't get your digital key so I steer clear these days

Bought it from Hong Kong on Xbox store myself, will be unlocked at 5PM. Looking forward to tearing straight into it at 7PM when I get home :)

The gap between Xbox One S and X is apparently one of the biggest of any X enhanced game. It goes from 864p to a legit 4K and also has a much more stable framerate. By all accounts it is very impressive.

The other thing to note is that the S (which Digital Foundry use as their base Xbox) is overclocked slightly relative to the launch model. So whatever performance issues the S has will presumably be even more pronounced on the launch model.

Have had one issue with CDKeys where I didn't get a correct key. Had a refund issued a couple of hours later. They're grand, and very very quick with support.

    Email.

You pay, they email. Email usually received within minutes, at least from the few times I've used them.

SCDKey.com is another one. I only used it for a Windows 10 key, but it was hassle free. It’s €55.99 on there.

Used CDKeys a few times and it’s straightforward enough too. Only game I’ve ever pre-ordered with them was Resident Evil 7 though and they sent me the code on release day at around midday.
