Great card for a fight night. Looking forward to every fight on the main card which is rare for a fight night.

I a big Al Iaquinta fan. Think he has the tools to go very far, and hope he gets the win. Him v Masvidal will be a war!

Fancy Mendes to decision Lamas aswell. Think it'll stay on the fight as the wrestling will cancel out and Chad's stand up really has come on leaps and bounds.

This Dustin's first fight at LW? Interesting to see Pena back as well. I think Mendes will beat Lamas. Mendes' striking has improved greatly while all Lamas seems to do is make atrocious 'comedy' videos.

His first fight at lightweight in the UFC, I could be wrong but I think all his fights were at lightweight before the UFC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭Gumbi

He had a ginormous cut to FW so he's back up to LW now. He posted a video of himself in decent shape recently and he was 180 so obviously he must have been cutting from 170 or something to make FW.

Lads I'm not seeing those times on my guide only 10pm Saturday. Is that it?

    They're American times

10pm on Sat going by tvguide.co.uk

Refreshing to have a card on at a reasonable time like that.

Prelims don't seem to be being broadcast though?

Seems doubtful. It's one thing showing prelims at 1/2am when there's nothing on, bit different when the prelims are on at 9pm. Shame, fightpass it is

Mendes is top class. After his 2nd fight with Aldo I'm convinced he's one of the best fighters around that isn't holding a belt right now, so I think he'll win probably by decision.

Prelims are 4pm and Main Card is 6pm our time lads. It seems a lot of sites are getting confused due to the change from the regular time, but the aforementioned are the correct times.

I expect this fight to be very close.
Lamas has destroyed everybody not named Aldo in the division.
Mendes is a step up but I think he'll do well.

Crazy that while everyone says McGregor has got an easy route to a title shot, This is Mendes first fight against someone ranked in the top 5 bar his 2 fights with Aldo

The only man who has had a hard run is Aldo,Conor had it easy but so did everyone else.

Sure The Korean Zombie only choked out an even lower ranked Dustin and got a shot, the argument that Conor has had an easy route is ridiculous. You said it yourself only Aldo has had a hard route

The featherweight really is one of the weaker divisions. If Conor wasn't in the mix the division would be buried in the co-main event for a long, long time. Only division i feel is weaker is flyweight, mighty mouse will sit atop of that for as long as he pleases. Hopefully Cejudo stops him in his tracks.

Anyway i'm predicting a Lamas win here, think Mendes will flop under pressure.

HW, LHW, BW and Flyweight are all weaker divisions than Featherweight.
Loads of exciting fights to make with or without Conor.

Wow talk about parroting and swallowing some of Conors rubbish! MW, WW and LW are all stronger and are stacked. No shame in being the fourth strongest division.

Mendes has never flopped under pressure in a fight in his life including 2 title fights so why would he finally succumb to the pressure against a very good but albeit weaker Lamas ill never know.

Pumped for this card, cracking line up.
    Ricardo Lamas vs. Chad Mendes
    Al Iaquinta vs. Jorge Masvidal
    Michael Chiesa vs. Mitch Clarke
    Milana Dudieva vs. Julianna Pena
    Clay Guida vs. Robbie Peralta
    Diego Ferreira vs. Dustin Poirier
    PRELIMINARY CARD
    FOX Sports 1, 11 a.m. ET
    Liz Carmouche vs. Lauren Murphy
    Gray Maynard vs. Alexander Yakovlev
    Shamil Abdurahimov vs. Timothy Johnson
    Justin Jones vs. Ron Stallings

Very happy that Dustin won but am I the only one who didn't think he looked very impressive (until the solid finish)? His footwork is not great and he looks very unsteady when he gets hit. Looked a little slow too. Still, I'm glad he's back on track with a win.

good comeback win and an opponent you'd expect him to beat easily given who he's fought
ferreira did look pretty poor imo
