Clocks go forward tonight not back.

Clocks go back to their state of being forward of the default of being back. Simple.

Saturday night out is just as long, it's the lie in the morning that is shorter.

I'm flying from Brazil to Ireland tonight. My time difference will suddenly become 33% longer, meaning worse jetlag. Sucks.

I'm not throwing away a perfectly good hour just because of convention.

My clocks will be going back 11 hours

Ah crap - really? Am away and was actually planning on getting up for breakfast, which finishes at 10am. But now 10am is 9am apparently.

And there's meant to be waffles. The pancakey ones, not the potato ones (which are also gorgeous).

    :(

If you put your clock forward right now then it will be 10 at 10 instead of 9.:)

Ha - yeah. Think that's the plan now. Buffet thing so room service wouldn't be as much fun. Would it be weird to wander in there, pile up a plate of foods, and wander back upto the room? Anyway - thanks to the clocks moving around, that's what I'ma gonna do.

Ireland used to have its clocks set 25 minutes behind Britain pre 1916.
In Ireland – where the sun, as measured by the Dunsink Observatory, rose 25 minutes and 21 seconds later than at Greenwich – time was officially defined as Dublin Mean Time.

What I want to know, do I have to change anything on my smart phone or not? Does it change automatically? This time change is confusing.

Usually I think they do yeah, but maybe when you wake up google 'what time is it' and check it matches what's on the phone, just to be sure, like.

I hope not, I've a 6am alarm tomorrow (so 5am really) and I'm presuming the phone will switch itself to the new time! Otherwise my boss won't be very pleased......

Can't post the link to the source as I'm new, but this may help:

But it’s important to check that iPhones and other smartphones have the right settings ahead of Saturday night, especially if they’re being used as an alarm clock.

In the “Date & Time” settings on an iPhone, there is an option to turn off the “Set Automatically” option, which should be set to on to ensure that the time on the phone responds. There is a very similar option on Android and other operating systems, as well as desktop ones.

For most people, the setting will never have been turned off. But it might have been changed over if you were travelling and didn’t want the time to change, or if you ever altered the time manually
