    Hi,

am starting to paint the inside of the house. The issue I have is that some of the paint cracked/peeled on the walls and the kids didnt help by picking at it so I am left with the attached.

I assuming I will have to apply a filler to fill the gap, I dont fancy getting at it with a scraper in case it keeps coming off, leaving me with a bigger problem! Should I just sand around the edges?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Branners

looks to me like a light embossed wallpaper that was painted over....Id strip wall and start from scratch.

I had something like that happen - I don't think the painters applied a mist coat when the wall was first painted.

Anyway, I removed all the loose paint then used a sealer for flaking paint. I can't remember the name but it was by zinsser. Then I used fine surface filler and sanded back with fine sandpaper. Tbh it was a total faff but you can't see the repair now at all so it was worth it.

I filled it and sanded it and so far so good. Thanks for the replies!
